Description

What chance does a small-town girl have with a world-famous rock star?

Two years after his wife’s death, rock star Garrett Hayes hasn’t moved on. But he has moved out of L.A. Where better to escape his past than a small town in the northern California mountains? If only he could get the townsfolk of Wildwood to leave him the hell alone.

Ani Bennet returned to her hometown for some much-needed serenity. The last thing she needs is a grumpy, too hot for his own good, rich and famous rock star living next door—and rent-free in her brain.

She set her fangirl tendencies aside and deleted his photo from her cell when they became neighbors. But when Garrett asks for help, she can’t say no. The problem is, spending time together is making those fangirl feelings resurface—and bringing them to a whole new level.

What chance does a small-town girl have with world-famous rock star? It’s time for Ani to set her fears aside and find out.

  • Too good but too short!

There is nobody who writes a rock star romance like Kylie Scott and I’m so glad she gave us another one (hopefully the start of a new series). Wonderful relationship between a damaged but resilient small town girl and a widowed shut down rock star. Great banter, heady emotions, quirky small town vibes that managed not to be twee. My only complaint is it was too short because I just want to keep living in this world and watching these character’s relationship develop. So good!

4.5 stars I really enjoyed this book. I wish it was a little bit longer, but I love this author. Both main characters have been through some traumatic events and neither is looking for someone to add to their lives. There is a little bit of angst, but the book gave me all the feels.

This was such an addictive storyline. There are moments in this story so angsty as well as moments sweet and tender I melted. And although these two do have a lot of baggage, their attraction is intense. There’s no shortage of push and pull or side drama which had me glued to every page. There is also humor and hilarious banter that will have you laughing out loud. So adorably funny and sharp while still remaining romantic. A story that entertains and makes you think. This book has it all. It’s passionate and intense, it’s heart-breaking and hopeful, it’s captivating and addictive, it’s beautifully written, and it leaves you with the powerful and uplifting message to never give up on love. I highly recommend it for everyone! Get it now!

Kylie Scott does such a great job with her rock stars and this book is no exception! Ani has a huge problem—a grumpy famous rock star has moved in next door and she cannot stop nosing into his business and wanting to help. Garrett is still grieving after the death of his wife two years ago and has escaped LA to the small town of Wildwood. Little does he realize that this small town protects their own and adopts him into their fold! Can these two find common ground? Loved this book!

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a story that really reminded me of Virgin River, the tv show on Netflix. It stars two very broken people who find each other and who become friends of a sort and eventually fall for each other. It was told beautifully by the author but it is also told only in the POV of Ani, who is a single 30 year old woman who works in the town store. At times I would have loved to had Garrett's POV but this authors writing style is that usually we only get the woman's POV so I knew what I was getting. The story starts off when Garett moves to a small Northern California town. He moves into a mansion and Ani is his neighbor. Garett has a sad back story and Ani has one as well. The difference is that most people don't know hers but the whole world knows his. So she understands his need to hide and so she helps him do that. He has also been hiding from life for two years and she helps him get out of his own head and get to know the new town he moved to. Garett is a former rock and roller and Ani is the girl that helps him move on. Its about finding love for the second time around and learning how to move past a terrible pain and loss. I adored the story a whole lot and love the characters I met in this small town.
