5By ibgybscEasy to dive in and get lost. Exciting concept, actual interesting characters, great book!Good stuff
5By MattrettigI recommend. Some fun stuff, some cringe stuff
4By wishesandkissesGood writing, fun magic system, the main kid is a little in-celly to me. Hopefully it’s a loser to hero story and the author is just making him ultra pathetic at the beginning of his journeyMagnificent
5By hobbeskiddieI don’t know what to write, this whole series is absolutely amazing, the world building feels so real. Too many books feel like the world began at the same time the story did, but you don’t get that. There are Magic and characters whose very inexplicability explains the story further.Confusing
3By PiroBlueI thought this book was confusing. There were a lot of strange names for things and people in here. I was having to guess what most of everything was. If it wasn’t for the glossary of terms I would have been totally lost. I didn’t particularly like the story. It is one of those books that sound good from the description but when you get into it you find out it is not as good as the description suggests. I will not be reading any more of this series.Fresh and Fun
5By stoked_flyfishingGreat book! A mixture of Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan’s style of writings. But with even better battle & combat descriptions was very exciting! Has it’s own totally unique magical system that you will find very intriguing. Also, it has a lot of similar aspects to Pillars of Eternity Deadfire.Very fun read
5By CowbelIThis series was fantastic! I was not a “reader” before getting into this series. It sparked an interest in reading for the first time in my life. “The powder mage” series is also fantastic!Lightbringer series

5By VPttsThis is possibly the best fantasy series I've read (and I'm on a bit of a fantasy kick, so there have been quite a lot). I've read all four available books so far and this series is absolutely mind blowing. The first book was a little slow at first because there are so many characters and there is so much background to be covered, but once it kicks into high gear there are twists and turns throughout the entire series. The world gets bigger with each book and it expands into this beautiful story that covers many aspects of life in the real world (religion, politics, morality and love for example). It's not what I expected, but definitely in a good way. Truly, if you're looking for a good series to get started on, don't hesitate!Amazing.
5By Cloud LeonheartThis book is absolutely amazing. A page-turner from start to finish, with complex story lines and huge reveals every other page, you will not sleep when hooked onto this book. I, myself, just finished this book at 1:30 a.m. Last night, and my prom is today and I'm absolutely exhausted. SO WORTH IT.Black Prism
5By UncleKennyWow, enthralling, sweeping epic. Engrossing characters you need to follow. Brent Weeks has written a fun book that you don't want to end. Thank goodness he's written a sequel. Any fantasy lover will love this world. And we've only just begun to learn about it. I want more.... You've got to read this .... come on, it's got a maaa..pRead it.
5By deValanginI will be buying the hardcover to add to my apocalypse collection.Buy this book!
5By DDrew56936I discovered Brent Weeks about 6 months ago and blew through The Night Angel Trilogy. Best new series I've read in years. The Black Prism took in to another level. I couldn't put this book down. Memorable and engaging characters, with real world fears and flaws. I'd recommend this book to anyone. If your teetering on the edge of a decision, buy it!!! You wont regret it.Disappointed
2By buckeeeReally kind of a mess. Has some good ideas in parts but doesn't work as a whole. Cliched characters I can live with, but it just wasn't a fun read.Another great work of fiction from Brent Weeks
5By Jet LeeIf you have read The Night Angel Trilogy, you will not want to miss this new book. If you haven't then you ought to read them, and then read this book too. Brent Week is definitely proving that he is a great writer with vivid imagination and original ideas and can put them into words that will captivate you and transport you into this new world he has created in your mind. Definitely recommended reading for any fantasy fans. And if you are not a fantasy reader, maybe this book will start you on an exciting journey you will not regret.Read this book!!!
4By Doc HendoAmazing book. Really liked the night angel trilogy and this is on par. Couldn't stop reading once I started. Had to force myself to turn it off so I could sleep, work, eat, etc.Unique and interesting
5By NeonNinjaIt's hard to put a finger on what makes Brent Weeks' writing so hard to put down. One thing I can say for sure is that there are plenty of unique ideas. Moreover, here is an author unafraid to break the norm and reverse stereotypes. I have to say that I did see all the twists coming, but it was a good "hah, I guessed right" sort of feeling.Amazing!
5By Annie 83This trilogy seems to be just as enthralling as the Night Angel trilogy and I cannot wait until the next book. Great job Brent Weeks!
