Description
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, Inferno, and The Secret of Secrets—comes a lightning-fast thriller about an astonishing NASA discovery that uncovers a vicious conspiracy leading all the way to the White House.
When a new NASA satellite spots evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory...a victory that has profound implications for US space policy and the impending presidential election. With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Milne Ice Shelf to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael Tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery—a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.
But before Rachel can contact the President, she and Michael are attacked by a deadly team of assassins controlled by a mysterious power broker who will stop at nothing to hide the truth. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, their only hope for survival is to find out who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all.
In his most thrilling novel to date, bestselling author Dan Brown transports readers from the ultrasecret National Reconnaissance Office to the towering ice shelves of the Arctic Circle, and back again to the hallways of power inside the West Wing. Heralded for masterfully intermingling science, history, and politics in his critically acclaimed thriller Angels & Demons, Brown has crafted another novel in which nothing is as it seems—and behind every corner is a stunning surprise. Deception Point is pulse-pounding fiction at its best.
Reviews
So much better than Secret of Secrets
5By dont email meMuch more story telling than overwhelming facts about things people don’t care aboutVery good but unrealistic.
4By KentKirklandA very exciting read with many twists and turns. The middle and ending were far too sensational and unrealistic to be realistic. Had that not been the case I would have rated the book *****.Origin
5By KlmochowA very dense book…it will take a couple of readings to understand all the detailsMystery under the ice
5By RMEF239Great story by Dab Brown, much different than his Robert Langdon series and topics. A splendid mixture of science, politics, secret government agencies and individuals who are trying very hard to do the right thing. Even tho published in 2001, has some uncanny similarities to 2024/2025 politics underway in Washington, DC. Highly recommended reading.A fine tale
5By General57Brown delivers a spectacular thriller. This one will keep the town talking for a long time. I was floored as this tale unraveled. Is science valuable for pure discovery or is science valuable only if it breaks even.Great Read

5By JCW42Excellent, fast paced novel. Very typical Dan Brown. I thought it got a little bit drawn out in the end. Overall, great book.Deception Point delivers!
4By Pass the popcornQuite the pulse-pounder (sometimes almost to the point of “The Perils of Pauline”) with precisely drawn characters, a tight script from beginning to end, and lots of thoughtful science, well-woven into the mix and essential to the plot.Another Brown great story
5By MrwgrFilled with science , politics, romance and intrigue.brown has written another five star story. Twists and turns and surprises fill this book will keep you guessing about what comes next and you will still be wrong because of his masterful writing.Deception point
5By lyonsgeistDan Brown is a masterful author. This book had me staying up most the night, ignoring things that needed to be done, anticipating the moment I could jump back in to the story. How many twists and turns he took me on, I felt like I was on a roller coaster. Bring on more stories!Fast paced
5By CrzycbfnI haven’t read a book this good in a long while. I kept comparing it to Michener’s “Space,” one-off the best I ever readKeeps you involved in reading more. A good read

5By JoyceAnnSI truly loved this book! I really couldn’t put it down. It was very well written & I loved the characters as well, but perhaps not all of them! Great read, thanks so very much! Joyce StevensI plowed through it
2By Maureen.Anastasia I was embarrassed that I had to keep on reading it, because the writing is so uninteresting and flat. At first the plot twists were intriguing, but after a while, there were just too many. The author showed off some facts from the various sciences involved but it all became too unbelievable. And the romantic sub plot was really absolutely terrible. I did finish it, because I wanted to see the ending, not because I cared about any of the characters, but was curious as to how the author would tie up what seemed like 13 dangling subplots.Great Book
5By VjwrThis book kept my interest from start to finish! I’ll be reading more of this author’s books for certain.Great!
5By rushtrish70One of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Right up my alley! Politics, NASA, geology, and paleontology!!! Woo hoo!!!!Excellent Read!
5By jake4hugsDan Brown has again captured my attention from the very beginning of ‘Deception Point.’ The story is filled with twists and turns, and the setting provides an interesting education into the world of what lies deep down in earth’s oceans. I am a big fan of Brown’s well researched novels.
