Description
From America’s Queen of Suspense and #1 New York Times bestselling author comes a gripping tale of a young woman trying to unravel the mystery of a family tragedy—a quest with terrifying repercussions.
It has been ten years since twenty-one-year-old Charles MacKenzie Jr. (“Mack”) went missing. A Columbia University senior, about to graduate and already accepted at Duke University Law School, he walked out of his apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side without a word to his college roommates and has never been seen again. However, he does make one ritual phone call to his mother every year: on Mother’s Day. Each time, he assures her he is fine, refuses to answer her frantic questions, then hangs up. Even the death of his father, a corporate lawyer, in the tragedy of 9/11 does not bring him home or break the pattern of his calls.
Mack’s sister, Carolyn, is now twenty-six, a law school graduate, and has just finished her clerkship for a civil court judge in Manhattan. She has endured two family tragedies, yet she realizes that she will never be able to have closure and get on with her life until she finds her brother. She resolves to discover what happened to Mack and why he has found it necessary to hide from them. So this year when Mack makes his annual Mother’s Day call, Carolyn interrupts to announce her intention to track him down, no matter what it takes. The next morning after Mass, her uncle, Monsignor Devon MacKenzie, receives a scrawled message left in the collection basket: “Uncle Devon, tell Carolyn she must not look for me.”

1By easyguysUser sam707174, you should know better than to reveal any key details in your review. Obviously most users considering the purchase of a novel read the customer reviews. Either you're just extremely thoughtless or hateful. Rude.Good book
4By ecduetGood book w interesting twistsWhere are You Now?
5By InfopleasorThis was a very enjoyable book with a surprise ending. I could not put it down and read the book in one afternoon. The aggravating thing about the book was all the blank pages. There were supposedly 434pages but many of them were blank or only had a couple of sentences on them. This is one of the things I dislike about digital books.Where Are You Now?
4By Ryans BuniI have not read a Mary Higgins Clark book in awhile and this was a great way to come home to her writing. It held my interest and did have a surprise ending. I kept thinking I would figure out who the 'bad guy' was prior to getting the answer from her, but I was wrong. Buy it and enjoy :)Where are you now
5By Sam707174This was an awesome book I have enjoyed all of Mary Higgins Clark's books, but this one kept me guessing very person that I thought was behind Lessey's and Mack's disappearance brought me farther from the true person. I would have never guessed it to be Howard Altman . Great book.Where are you now
5By tex2belleGrabs you fast and the pages keep turning. Keeps you guessing until the end.Where are your editors?
3By MoonvestgimmeyourThe story was compelling enough, although the plot had little to no character development. My biggest complaint was the typos I came across while reading. I know I only paid 4 bucks for the book, but reading the word "THE" misspelled as "THR" is an irritating oversight. What exactly are editors paid for these days?
