Description

Volume I of The Dragonriders of Pern®, the groundbreaking series by master storyteller Anne McCaffrey

On a beautiful world called Pern, an ancient way of life is about to come under attack from a myth that is all too real. Lessa is an outcast survivor—her parents murdered, her birthright stolen—a strong young woman who has never stopped dreaming of revenge. But when an ancient threat to Pern reemerges, Lessa will rise—upon the back of a great dragon with whom she shares a telepathic bond more intimate than any human connection. Together, dragon and rider will fly . . . and Pern will be changed forever.

It should have been free. It’s only part of the first chapter.

This book is boring. I tried to get interested in it but I just couldn’t.

From the first moment I picked up this book as a teen I could not put it down. Very imaginative with a scientific twist, and there are many books in the series to look forward to after reading this one. A rich, fully imagined world.

Do not recommend. Love dragons, after reading the Paolini, “Inheritance Cycle”, was looking for another fantasy dragon book. This does not even come close to Paolini’s amazing books. No character development, simplistic writing, misogynistic, full of strange names. Ugh!

This book is a perfect place to start an epic journey spanning several novels. Anne is a wonderful author and paints beautiful pictures in the readers' minds. Once you start this series, you can't help but keep going.
