Description
From a #1 New York Times bestselling author, Beecher White must stop a killer in Washington, D.C. who's meticulously re-creating the crimes of four notorious assassins.
From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, there have been more than two dozen assassination attempts on the President of the United States. Four have been successful.
Historians have branded them as four lone wolves. But what if they were wrong?
Beecher is about to discover the truth: that during the course of a hundred years, all four assassins were secretly working together.
What was their purpose? For whom do they really work? And why are they planning to kill the current President?
Beecher's about to find out. And most terrifyingly, he's about to come face-to-face with the fifth assassin.
"Meltzer's fans will enjoy the usual sprinkling of history factoids, fast-paced writing and the double-whiplash bombshell conclusion." —Kirkus Reviews

4By Mam1950Great book but ending was a little of a let downThe Fifth Assassin is excellent
5By PezoldExcellent book... Page turner! I read this in 2 days. Very gripping story with some twists and surprises. The ending is somewhat unfulfilling but I believe it is setting up a sequel. I can't wait for that book.Mr.
2By Boomer625Slow read and I did not like the way it ended.Good but left you hanging
4By Stevie G 919Just like the Inner Circle, this seems to be another story about Beecher but has no real conclusion. It's definitely a good read and I couldn't put either down, but who knows when the next one will be out to continue the story? What's going on with Clementine and Nico? What's Marshall really doing? What about Beecher and Marshall's fathers? What happens to Tot and Grace? So many things left unanswered.Amazing
5By Tonysark23So worth the 5$ one of the best and most brain twisting books ive read so far. Good ishSuspense filled, gripping work of art
5By Lharper09This is my third Brad Meltzer novel I have read, and like the two others, I could not put I down. If you like mysteries with a lot of twists and turns, plus a little bit of history, then I recommend this book, but first read the Inner Circle so you know the background of the characters.Fifth assassinate this book
2By MushmotWhen I purchased this book it was number three on the best seller list and when I finished reading it two weeks later it was number 30 and i can see why! The book was very disjointed and the story lines did not connect. The ending was totally unfinished as if there is some sort of sequel. If there is one, I won't be reading it!The Fifth Assassin
2By ButchFarisI was very disappointed in the ending of this book. It basically had no ending. Is there going to be a sequel so that we can find out what happens to all the characters?Thumbs up
4By KpmartinPretty good book. I didn't read the first novel in this series, so I didn't have the full background of the characters and plot. When the book would jump around to different storyline's, it didn't stay off course too long.Lost in translation
1By RefractoryMeltzer's work has deteriorated from his first book which left me eager for more of this young, clever new author. He has become formulaic with the same clever smart mouth protagonist who is OCD,conflicted about women and probably is Meltzer enjoying his pedantic and convoluted intellect. I couldn't wait for the book to be over.Searching for more
3By fuzzyrufHad such high hopes for this book as it was a continuation of the inner circle (which rocked until the end). In the end, the storyline did not have the punch to keep it a page turner. It didn't end, it just stopped!
3By E-town TastemanI either missed something or am totally confused. Did Nico ever try to kill Wallace?Don't listen to bad reviews
5By JewdemisDon't listen to Boys, Tahoe or Bessie. The Fifth Assassin was a really good book. The people that are saying it was hard to follow probably didn't read the prequels to it (Inner Circle & Book of Fate) because I noticed there wasn't too much detail about the characters back stories. I didn't find the plot hard to follow though the ending wasn't the best ever from meltzer. Still good though. P.S. Bessie, you really threw your tablet down in disgust? Really? How'd that work out for you?The Fifth Assassin
1By BoysmumasBy boysmumas What a waste of money and time. God forgive me I could not finish this book. And the author said it took 4 years to write it? As convoluted as this plot was, it reads as if he threw it together over a long weekend. If plots were a color this one would be gray. On and on it went until I finally slammed it shut. If you really think you must read it, get it from the library, don't waste your money. The 5th Assasin
1By SLZ TahoeThe people that gave this 5 stars must've read a different book. It's been a struggle to understand the plot and finish the book.
