Hard to finish
2By JandJMommyI love chick lit with a twist. This one had a twist that I saw coming a mile away. Then once the "secret" was revealed (which was fairly early on), the rest of the book just dragged on. And the writing actually started to deteriorate - it got really bad. I usually love her books but this one was disappointing.Family Pictures

Every single female character in this book is chock full of desperation and naïveté. Add some eating disorders, alcoholism, and shocking (errr....or not) secrets and you have a terrible, predictable, and poorly written waste of money. Fail. Big time.Fabulous read!

3By Have brain, will readLoved Jane Green's early work, but it's morphed into the extraordinarily dull "mother love conquers all" genre. Women find their true selves as mommies; men are good or bad depending on whether they play the proper supporting role. (Pun intended.) Non-mommies are largely 2D caricatures with expensive handbags. Plots that used to hold surprises have turned to largely predictable mush. Decent storytelling skills remain. Please, get out of picturesque rural Connecticut and exercise a bit of creativity!Family Pictures
