Who can you trust if not the ones you love? That is the question at the heart of Family Pictures, an emotional, page-turning story about what it means to be a family from New York Times bestselling author, Jane Green
"Green's novels consistently deliver believable, accessible, heartfelt, often heartwarming stories about real people, problems, and feelings."-Redbook
Sylvie and Maggie are two women living on opposite coasts with children about to leave the nest for school. Both are in their forties with husbands who travel more than either would like. The looming emptiness of their respective homes has left them feeling anxious and lonely, needing their husbands to be home now more than ever. It isn't until Eve, Sylvie's daughter, happens to befriend Maggie's daughter that the similarities between these two women become shockingly real. A huge secret has remained well hidden for years until now-and their lives will be blown apart as dark truths from the past come to the surface. Can these two women learn to forgive, for the sake of their children...and for themselves?
"This gripping story is ultimately one of redemption."-Library Journal

Hard to finish
2By JandJMommyI love chick lit with a twist. This one had a twist that I saw coming a mile away. Then once the "secret" was revealed (which was fairly early on), the rest of the book just dragged on. And the writing actually started to deteriorate - it got really bad. I usually love her books but this one was disappointing.Family Pictures
5By MahometmamaEasy read, good plotline altho the hookups in the end might be a bit to programmed…. But I am a huge fan of relationship chick lit and Jane Green always fills the bill…….She’s one of my top 10 for sure.Family Pictures
5By retiredreaderCouldn't put it down. My life was neglected for two days.Really?
1By Unimpressed917This book is lovely if you have a second grade reading level and like stories that are completely ridiculous. Every single female character in this book is chock full of desperation and naïveté. Add some eating disorders, alcoholism, and shocking (errr....or not) secrets and you have a terrible, predictable, and poorly written waste of money. Fail. Big time.Fabulous read!
5By Boston352013I loved this book! The characters are so different and likable at the same time. I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to scream, laugh and cry! Thank you to the author for a wonderful story!Family pictures
3By Shelley McCawAverage book, not enough entertainment for the price. Wait for the sale.Mommy lit
3By Have brain, will readLoved Jane Green's early work, but it's morphed into the extraordinarily dull "mother love conquers all" genre. Women find their true selves as mommies; men are good or bad depending on whether they play the proper supporting role. (Pun intended.) Non-mommies are largely 2D caricatures with expensive handbags. Plots that used to hold surprises have turned to largely predictable mush. Decent storytelling skills remain. Please, get out of picturesque rural Connecticut and exercise a bit of creativity!Family Pictures
4By Lottie KayI read a review so I knew the "secret" when I bought the book. It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story because I wanted to see how it played out. An enjoyable read.so contrived...
3By Darcyraethe writing is meh...The ending is the best part of this book, and anyone who didn't see what this "terrible secret" was coming from a mile away, should stick with Dr. Seuss.Really great
5By Ranman613I feel like out of all her books this is the best. I was interested the whole time. It was a very easy read. I read it in one night! Perfect chick lit!!
