Description

Twenty-two-year-old Aern is done watching his brother destroy the only thing that matters. He never wanted to take Morgan’s place among council, never wanted to rule their hidden world. But when the key to the prophecy is found, a young girl named Brianna whom Morgan will destroy, Aern knows he has to take action.
What he really wants, is for things to go back to normal. But now he’s kidnapped a girl, and his brother’s men are after him. His only hope is to join with the Division, but they have plans of their own, and it’s the last thing Aern is willing to do.
Emily just wants her sister back. She doesn't care about the prophecy, or realize what’s at stake. But when she goes after Aern, the truth of the matter uncoils, and Brianna isn't the only one who’s in danger.
Suddenly, they’re at the center of a secret war, and unless they can work together, they’ll both have a sacrifice too big to make.

  • Pretty good but...

I did read til the end but the author left many mysteries. It was confusing throughout because the prophecy or the chosen or other fundamental roles are never really explained. But the main characters were so likeable and I wanted to see how it ended with them. The ending was a bit rushed but at least it tied up lose ends. If you don't have too much patience this book will frustrate you. Overall it was pretty good but lacked better writing.

It was a good read but I got a bit confused at times. I also felt like it was a bit too rushed.

I was a bit confused with the whole prophecy, for it was never really explained only mentioned, more than a dozen times and I still have no idea what it's about or what it means to be the chosen one. What exactly does the chosen one do? Or another one what are the council people, I think they are aliens, there's nothing mentioned about their ancestry, or how they have their abilities, truly frustrating parts of this book, though a bit interesting with the sisters and for the sake of how awesome one of the main female leads is, I'm going to have to check out the next book to see how things work for her. I loved the romance between the main characters, they just had this certain budding connection that draws the reader to them, the political aspect pretty straight forward, two opposing sides, one wanting to rule the world the other wanting to protect and keep the other from gaining power.
