Description
The New York Times bestselling “new Agatha Christie” (Air Mail) Ruth Ware returns with this adrenaline-fueled thriller that combines Mr. and Mrs. Smith with The Fugitive about a woman in a race to clear her name and find her husband’s murderer.
Hired by companies to break into buildings and hack security systems, Jack and her husband, Gabe, are the best penetration specialists in the business. But after a routine assignment goes horribly wrong, Jack arrives home to find her husband dead. To add to her despair, the police are closing in on their suspect—her.
Suddenly on the run and quickly running out of options, Jack must decide who she can trust as she circles closer to the real killer in this unputdownable and heart-pounding mystery from an author whose “propulsive prose keeps readers on the hook and refuses to let anyone off until all has been revealed” (Shelf Awareness).

5By loganessmomaGreat book. Love Ware's writing style. She depicts outdoors so well.Interesting
3By brock_zahlerI found this super interesting and hard to put down! Less about computers than you’d expect it to be, but I went into it knowing nothing about the premise at all, so that didn’t bother me. Some of the dialogue I found, frankly cringeworthy, but the story itself was solid and I was happy with the ending. I’d be interested to read more of Ruth’s work!Just Okay
3By SvanderzylThis book was just okay. Not great, not bad, just a little boring. But I haven’t found a great mystery to read in some time. 🫤Well done
5By MJWVermontFrankly I didn’t know your work but decided to take a chance after reading a preview. Glad I did. The story and writing pace are phenomenal. The scene descriptions and what Jack was seeing and feeling, came alive to me. I look forward to reading you again.Very disappointed. This is one of my favorite authors

4By AnrussI saw that this book got a few bad reviews and I didn’t feel it deserved it. It was fast paced and well written. I loved the main character and my heart broke for her but I ended the book feeling hopeful for her. Worth the read for sure!!!!I liked it a lot!
5By Fredtastic1901I was surprised to see the negative reviews, and it bothered me that of 300+ reviews, only three negative responses were available to read. Where’s the rest of them? To those who found the protagonist predictable and boring, I have to assume their choice of pleasure reading is far more erudite than my own and I’m okay with that!Terrible
