Description
Harkening to Agatha Christie’s classic And Then There Were None, this high-tension thriller follows five couples trapped on a storm-swept island as a killer stalks among them—from Ruth Ware, the New York Times bestselling author who “is turning out to be as ingenious and indefatigable as the Queen of Crime” (The Washington Post).
Lyla is in a bit of a rut. Her post-doctoral research has fizzled out, she’s pretty sure they won’t extend her contract, and things with her boyfriend, Nico, an aspiring actor, aren’t going great. When the opportunity arises for Nico to join the cast of a new reality TV show, One Perfect Couple, she agrees to try out with him.
A whirlwind audition process later, Lyla finds herself whisked off to a tropical paradise with Nico, boating through the Indian Ocean towards Ever After Island, where the two of them will compete against four other couples—Bayer and Angel, Dan and Santana, Joel and Romi, and Conor and Zana—in order to win a cash prize.
But not long after they arrive on the deserted island, things start to go wrong. After the first challenge leaves everyone rattled and angry, an overnight storm takes matters from bad to worse. Cut off from the mainland by miles of ocean, deprived of their phones, and unable to contact the crew that brought them there, the group must band together for survival. As tensions run high and fresh water runs low, Lyla finds that this game show is all too real—and the stakes are life or death.

5By WhatdidmarksayAfter a number of recommendations in this app, I finally got my first Ruth Ware novel. To say I was not disappointed is a vast understatement. This book grabs hold and tightens the grip the further you go. I will certainly be adding more of Mrs. Ware’s books to my reading list and collection, and encourage anyone who enjoys a thriller to pick it up as well.Loved it!

3By karengross33I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read, but a bit long in between. I wish she had given us a bit more little details throughout, may have helped keep me more intrigued. Still fun to read and was surprised how it ended up.Crazy ride

5By English Teacher LVI read this book faster than I have anything else in recent years! I highly recommend!Ehh
2By kopsha147A slow ready and anticlimactic. Seemed like a pointless read. All the reviews said it got better towards the end but it really didn’t. Very predictable. Her other books are better.Incredible
5By JLeeO'BeeI literally could not put this book down… The most exciting book I have read in ages.Great!!
5By Holly_Pop22This book was phenomenal! It had me really hooked from the third chapter & it just got better and better with each chapter that passed. It was so well written & it didn’t feel like it dragged on either. It’s a long book and I expected it to have this dragging out of a plot, but to my surprise it didn’t. The characters were very well created and you fell in love with some while you found yourself hating others. The details were spot on. I could imagine it as I read, creating the characters and chapters in my head as they played out on paper. Must read.Fast
