Description
A Manhattan bakery. A deadly competition. And a murder too close for comfort.
When a body literally drops at her feet, baker Maddie Flynn knows this isn't a tragic accidentâit's murder. With her sharp instincts, a dash of courage, and a few secret skills up her sleeve, she's determined to uncover the truth.
But danger is rising fast. A furious baking contestant, a baffling kidnapping, and a crime that refuses to add up put Maddie right in the crosshairs of a killer who won't hesitate to strike again.
Even Big Red, her oversized Maine Coon with an uncanny nose for trouble, is restless. And if Maddie doesn't solve the case soon, she might be the next victim on the menu.
đŸ The Maple Lane Mysteries blend baking, small-town sleuthing, and cat-loving charmâperfect for fans of Murder, She Wrote, culinary cozies, and whisker-twitching feline sidekicks.
5* "This story was a quick, easy read with a good pace, crime with a taciturn police detective trying to hold Maddie in check, and a baking competition that turns triumph to terror! Big Red, Maddie's Maine Coon cat companion, is a mighty protector prowling the streets of NYC and a key player. I love a cozy with a sassy pet."

4By Swan rockNot x-rated, a bit of foolish behavior but things turn out ok. Worry about young people making same bad decisions with bad results. FranIt was great!
5By Mary WeimerThis book was part of a series of books by C A Phillips about Maple Falls, New York. I have read three of her books now and find that I like them very much! I am going to read as many as I can get for free. She is a very good author and I enjoy reading her books!Fun Entertainment, ExceptâŠ
2By AncNrbThis mystery has a cute premise, but needs a little help and nod to American readers. Itâs set in New York, but people in NY donât use hobs, or have flatmates, use the term dodgy. The ending seems a little too rushed, and too many plot details come flying in at the end. The Epilogue is too long, with too many plot threads thrown in at the end. I get that this is a prequel, but it needs to have some of those plot threads woven in and a plot hole sewn up earlier. All in all, not a bad effort, just needs some refining, editing, and it will be more comfy for American language readers. Let the cat have a little more personality, he could shine as a character.
