All is well until he rescues who he thought was a damsel in distress. Said rescue results in his being robbed. Marian Trill has been part of uncle’s troupe of thieves most of her life. She takes notice of the handsome man who comes to her “rescue” outside the inn. She learned two things that made her leave her “family,” warn the man of danger, and follow him to return one of his belongings. Danny and Marian were instantly attracted to each other, but saw no possibility of a future. The neighbor’s daughter, Amy, is a piece of work. Danny might want to think this possibility through. Danny’s grandmother is a scheming delight. Granny finds a way for Marian to stay, and works to bring this unlikely couple together. This is a fun story with an entertaining plot with a few surprises, interesting characters, and a happy ending. I received an ARC of this book via BookSprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
