Description

“Gaudy Night” by Dorothy L. Sayers was first published in 1935. It is a mystery novel. It is the tenth book in the author’s popular series about aristocratic detective Lord Peter Wimsey.

It is also the third book that features crime writer Harriet Vane.

Harriet Vane happens to be invited to attend the annual ‘Gaudy’ celebrations at all female Shrewsbury College by the dons of the alma mater.

The celebrations begin but soon they turn sour because a lunatic begins several malicious pranks.

That lunatic sends poison pen messages, creates obscene graffiti, a set of proofs is destroyed, and vile effigies are crafted.

There is a chance that a murder will take place in college. Harriet eventually tells her old friend Wimsey to investigate the matter.
