Description

Charley Davidson—part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper—returns in the New York Times bestseller, Sixth Grave on the Edge by Darynda Jones.

Sometimes I wrestle my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.—Bumper Sticker

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow—but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She's a paranormal private eye and grim reaper-in-training who's known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he's dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really.

But when the FBI file on Reyes' childhood happens to land into her lap, she can't help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins. First, Charley finds a naked corpse riding shotgun in her car. Then, a man loses his soul in a card game. Throw in a Deaf boy who sees dead people, a woman running from mobsters, and a very suspicious Reyes, and things can't get any worse for Charley. Unless, of course, the Twelve Beasts of Hell are unleashed…

Darynda Jones is a gifted writer! Whenever I am feeling down just picking up one of her books changes my mood always for the better. It is not often a writer can consistently entertain in a fast paced light hearted way. You write with depth, humor, playfulness as well as being thought provoking. Bess you Darynda for another book which lightens my heart and keeps on giving!

I worried when purchasing this book that it couldn't possibly live up to the past of this series. I was wrong. It was different, but I liked that it provided more insight into Charly's powers. Fewer dramatic confrontations. Only downside is that I read it all in one day and now can't wait for the next in the series!!! Will be getting the next as soon as it's available.

As with the previous 5, I was immersed throughout the entire book. This time I paced myself, so as to experience such a delish story a bit longer. Kind of like slowly savouring a Doves dark chocolate, only to want more once it was gone. I do have one complaint. You need to bring back Ozzie, the GPS! LOL.......thank you for the excellent entertainment, Darynda!

I loved this book, I am in deep with the whole series though. After each book is released I reread the series and it never gets old, always keeping me in its grips. Like I said before I love this whole series and want more!

Charley Davidson, PI, aka Grim Reaper, aka "nigh fiancée of Reyes Farrow" did not disappoint....her humor and sometimes crazy antics had me smiling and laughing. She is once again overloaded with cases, while doing her "Grim Reaper" job. There is lots of progression with other characters in the books and we finally get Charley's answer to the utterly smokin hot Reyes Farrow. The ending of this book can only open the door to an even better next book in this series.... The only negative that I found was that at times Charley was a bit childish and it was annoying, otherwise I love her humor
