Description

Miss Primrose needs to be punished.

A member of the wickedly wanton Inn of the Red Chrysanthemum, where the most taboo and illicit pleasures are indulged, Miss Primrose—or Mistress Primrose, as she prefers—left Nicholas Edelton a shell of a man. Now his older brother, Spencer Edelton, the Marquess of Carey, intends to provide her a set-down she will never forget.
~~
Weary from exacting her revenge upon the man who raped her sister, Beatrice Primrose has had her fill of men of privilege and presumption, but she accepts a fateful invitation from a handsome nobleman to spend a sennight at his estate for a grand sum of money. She soon learns, however, that she will not get to reprise her role as Mistress. To her horror, she finds his lordship expects her to submit to him!

But Beatrice won’t give in so easily.
~~
In a clash of wills, fueled by vengeance and lust, Lord Carey and Miss Primrose wrestle for dominance in, and out of, the bedchamber. Their biggest struggle, however, may be against their own desires…

Can Miss Primrose take what she dishes? And will Lord Carey succumb or succeed in punishing Miss Primrose?

READER ADVISORY: Punishing Miss Primrose is an erotic historical romance with BDSM elements. It is written as a serial of short stories, which may be purchased individually or in sets.

This book doesn’t end. You have to buy the next book to find out how the story ends.

Don’t read the reviews. Read it for yourself. There is some awkwardness as information is repeated but this is due to the book first written as a series of short stories. But otherwise good. Good writing good character development. Good banter too.
  • Forget Punishing Mrs. Primrose, its not her fault the book is so bad, punish the writer

This is a truly terrible book. The author should be punished but not in a BSDM way, rather in having to take a courses such as “how to write an interesting story; basic character development; basic plot development; basic dialogue,” etc. Save yourself the wasted time reading this, you won’t regret passing it by, nor anything written by Em Brown.

I very much dislike authors who can not write a complete story in one book. They lead you on to buy more books.

I have to say, I have never watched any porn, so to compare this book to porn, I cannot say (and I read this book probably 2 years ago now). But this book is not much different from other books or movies that use sex as a language for the protagonists. Or for that matter any romance novels that have the characters “rutting” all the time. The story here involves a lot of sex and in some cases, explicit sex that compels the characters forward in their emotional and physical development, and conscientious awareness that is their story. Yes, the novella style can be a little off-putting, but the main story at heart is why your are reading fiction. These two flawed characters have every reason to seek revenge in the name of those they love. You get to feel (well Beatrice more so than Spencer in my opinion), why they feel so compelled to try and use sex as a punishment to seek revenge and how they can come to confuse the lines between revenge, redemption, esteem and love. The story that does not involve sex is so compelling - they truly like each other! Over the course of the story, the sex is the point of drawing them together, but that is not what attracts them. Romance novels sometimes are caught up in the fantasy of people who are so perfect the main characters cannot resist each others perfection. This is not the case here. These people are scared, flawed and filled with angst, however, though their sexual encounters with each other, have to get to know each other. Surprisingly to Spencer, Beatrice is quite clever and he admires that in her. Their story is one that allows for a natural esteem to be cultivated and grow organically, albeit in the unusual way. There is one pretty horrific encounter that profoundly affects both of them, however, it is crucial to their story and how they clearly see and feel about each other. Beatrice, for me, was a strong-willed woman of young years who had a vision of revenge that she was determined to exact. By seeking her revenge, she thought that would bring her redemption. Upon meeting Spencer, who was unaware of his brother’s actions that led to the story, she has a clear goal. Spencer too has a goal in mind, but very different as he is not privy to the torrid details of what lead Miss Primrose to seek revenge upon his brother. But how can you admire one you are determined to hate? How can you esteem someone who can make you feel lightheaded and at east while making you forget the reason you sought them out in the beginning? As they spend more time with each other, their esteem for each other grows rapidly (thanks to the sex of the book, which breaks down their inhibitions as they have had sex, now they are eager to know each other). I don’t want to give too much away, but give it a try. The characters are lovely and they are flawed, lonely and seeking what all humans want, love, companionship, redemption and freedom.

THIS BOOK SHOULD NEVER HAVE SHOWN UP IN A HISTORICAL NOVEL SEARCH! I can't even give it a 1! IT'S PORN PURE AND SIMPLE AND DOES NOT DESERVE EVEN A "1" RATING!
