Description
Another quality eBook from Chapel Library. THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS traces the journey of Christian from his first conviction of sin, through his conversion, trials, suffering, and victorious joy, and ultimately across the River of Death to the Celestial City. Next to the Bible, the book that I value most is Pilgrim’s Progress. I believe I have read it through at least a hundred times…Prick him anywhere, and you will find that his blood is “bibline,” the very essence of the Bible flows from him. – Charles H. Spurgeon (1834-1892) JOHN BUNYAN (1628-1688) was born of a poor family near Bedford, England. He repaired pots and pans before being called to preach the Gospel full time. He was imprisoned in 1660 for refusing to compromise with the practices of the Church of England. While in jail for 12 years, he penned The Pilgrim’s Progress, which has been in continuous print since then and is the second best selling book of all time after the Holy Bible.

4By Jlevine018I am still on a journey to read the classics. The Pilgrim’s Progress was one of the classics on my list. It is on the surface an easy read. To read it as it was intended takes a more serious approach. Anyone interested in a good aligore must make The Pilgrim’s Progress a priority. As a Christian, it was very revealing about one’s journey in their spritual life.Forever a Classic
5By C.J. Z******The journey of Christian to the Celestial City is arguably the greatest metaphor for the Christian life. So many arguments and ideologies contrary to the gospel are confronted eloquently and artistically through the conversations had with the many different characters met along the King's Highway. Believers will continue to read and be encouraged in their own pilgrimage for many more years to come.I Have Searched ...

5By MichaelFaceGreat formatting for an ebook, paid or not. Also, Bunyan is awesome, so please take the opportunity to learn from his words.Impressive "Value-Add" with Table of Contents!!!
5By TunaFish#5As Bunyan's work is already widely discussed, my comments here concern only this edition of PP. There's not a whole lot to be expected when obtaining a free version of a ~325 year old book other than completeness & few-if-not-no typos. That said, this publisher exceeds all expectations with a greatly enhanced Table of Contents. This version disposes of the normal "Stages 1 - 10" listing, replacing it with a fully story-oriented ToC that must have 30 or more entries. If the publisher has done this to impress prospective customers and have them consider paying money for other of their publications, then s/he has succeeded in my case. I am quite impressed with this enhancement.Gorgeous ebook
5By Zoe IxthyzThis is a classic that ought to be read at least once a decade. Each reading reveals new levels of meaning as wisdom and insight are gained through the experiences of life. There are many free copies available but this one in particular is very well copied and readable. I especially like the scripture references in the notations. My grandmother read it at the beginning of the 20th century and it is just as poignant at the beginning of the 21st!
