Description
Another quality eBook from Chapel Library, including active contents and footnotes. A Call to Prayer was one of J.C. Ryle’s best received works in his day and has remained so ever since. It is a direct exhortation to pray fervently and without ceasing. “I want the times we live in to be praying times. I want the Christians of our day to be praying Christians. I want the church to be a praying church. My heart’s desire and prayer in sending forth this tract is to promote a spirit of prayerfulness. I want those who never prayed yet, to arise and call upon God, and I want those who do pray, to see that they are not praying amiss.” Chapters include 1. Prayer is Needful to a Man’s Salvation, 2. The Habit of Prayer: Mark of a True Christian, 3. Prayer: The Most Neglected Duty, 4. Prayer Produces Great Encouragement, 5. Diligence in Prayer: The Secret of Holiness, 6. Prayer and Backsliding, 7. Prayer and Contentment, 8. Advice to the Unsaved, 9. Counsel to the Saints. About 40 paperback sized pages.

5By lololorranyShort, easy to read and meaty beyond measure. This book is less than 100 pages and so easy to read and get through that I have hardly seen like it. Not to mention that it breaks down so simply prayer - the highest duty of a Christian. If you are not a reader, please pick it up. I have read few books that so concisely describes prayer and make it simple enough to read within a day. Before you notice you’ll be through with it. I will probably re - read for weeks and months and years to come. My favorite book on prayer yet.
