Description
Chicago wizard Harry Dresden gets a taste of the dead life in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.
In his life, Harry’s been shot, stabbed, sliced, beaten, burned, crushed, and tortured. And after someone puts a bullet through his chest and leaves him to die in the waters of Lake Michigan, things really start going downhill.
Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on—a feat which would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.
Now, the late Harry Dresden will have to pull off the ultimate trick without using any magic—or face an eternity as just another lost soul...

Better than I hoped
5By GottabaussieI was not sure I wanted to read this book after Changes. Changes broke my heart. I was angry for days. After a couple starts, I finally got into it and found it very good. Where we go from here-we will see. Anthing is possible now.Great start to a new arc

5By ManMuffinManiacExcellent addition to the series, I’ll admit that this started out as one of my less liked books just because of the premise but I ended up really loving it!Really?
1By Plumisland69What was Butcher thinking. Just a really bad book in what has been a decent series.Ghost story's

5By Dave51vOne of those rare series where the next publish date goes in my calendar. Really well written dialogue. Maybe Jim can start using his feet to type as well?Ghost Stories
5By daiquiri bI've loved all Mr. Butcher's books including this one. Thank you.Ghost Story
5By BongoBernI couldn't put this one down! Too much was riding on it. Seriously! I mean, how does this most recent book end? What becomes of the wizard I started out not thoroughly liking, but ended up a loyal fan of? I'm not a professional writer and don't know how to review a book without all kinds of spoiler alerts. Suffice it to say, if you are not yet a Harry Dresden fan, start with the first book and know that the most recent episode is immensely satisfying. I can't wait for the next one. I can only pray that Jim Butcher never gets tired of preparing the Dresden Files for our perusal.Ghost story
