“A can’t-miss entry in one of the best urban-fantasy series currently being published.”—Booklist (starred review)
As Chicago’s only professional wizard, Harry Dresden has faced demons, vampires, werewolves, dark sorcerers, and hosts of horrors from beyond the mortal realm. But nothing could have prepared him for this…
Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry's Dresden’s lover—until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her caught between humanity and the relentless bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. She disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it. Now, she needs Harry’s help more than ever.
For the vengeful Duchess of the Red Court has discovered a secret Susan has long kept from everyone—including Harry—and she plans to use it. To prevail, Harry may have to unleash the full fury of his untapped power—and he may have no choice but to embrace the darkness within himself.
Because this time, he’s fighting to save his child.

Best so far
5By sweet derDon’t know how they keep getting better, but they do. Changes was an amazing book! Definitely a must read!!Bad form, Apple
4By ciunasechoI thoroughly enjoy Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and this one is no exception. I just want to say that it's bad form on Apple's part to not support reading on PC or Mac OS. Your competitors are doing it better, Apple.Changes
5By Tenac4everThis book needs 6 stars!Harry
4By MaicolGOThe book reads excellent and the adventure is just mind blowing. I'm just not sure about the ending.A Fun Read
5By Texican55The Dresden books are always a fun read. They keep getting better and better with each new one. I look forward to many more!Wow!!
5By Dr. ZiggyThe life of Mr Dresden is getting more complex and dangerous. There is always a gauntlet of difficult choices and enemies for him to combat, outwit and overcome. Jim Butcher must really dislike our poor hero. But it makes for really good reading!Make the world go 'round.
4By kosmic2021True to the name there are significant changes to our intrepid wizard. If you made it this far into the series you probably already read this one. The ending was a bit upsetting in that it's a huge cliff hanger. Not my kind of book
3By XcoraThe book is pretty well written, but unfortunately it's not my kind of book. I lost interest half way through. One of Butcher's best
5By Sunny39Loved it! Can't wait for the next installment.Hope there's another
5By zaksoupWhat a great book... All I can say is that I hope there's another coming soon!Fantastic!
5By Irritated JonesIt's yet another page turner by Butcher! Buy it!An excellent addition to the series
5By CrankyOldNerdAn excellent addition to the series and like all the books in it ends to soon. Continuing where the last novel left off we join Dresden as he discovers not only is hr a Dad, but his new found fatherhood is already in jeopardy in that his daughter has been kidnapped. So starts another rip roaring adventure in the Dresden Files. Filled with the typical wit and tension cutting humor Harry and company boldly go onward. I found it impossible to put down and burned through the book. 700 some pages of thrilling reading. Surprises in Harry's backstory are revealed in their typical Jim Butcher method and new mysteries are revealed. Waiting for the next book is not going to be any funJust read this book
5By MacroegoHe really called in a lot of favors in this book, made choices he would never have considered. Why, because he found out in the first sentence of the book he have something worth protecting. The surprises keep on surprising you till the end, what a roller coaster ride. Too bad I ordered the hardback 4 months ago.Excellent
5By Bert46901What a great book! Full of action and twists, with the ultimate twist at the end. I loved it. The best Dresden book to date. If you are into action, dry humor and a book that makes you think you will love it.
