I always look forward to books authored by L.P. Dover. Her writing checks all of the boxes. It has swoon worthy alpha males with big hearts, lovable heroines you cheer for an a well developed exciting plot. This second chance romance is no exception! Second chance romances are one of my favorites and this one includes a love triangle (without cheating). It has twists and turns with characters we have met in some of the author's other books. Luke and Lara had one hot night together and Luke got scared. Lara took it as him returning to his flavor of the week ways. Enter Grayson who already loved her madly. He promised to love her forever. Does Lara really love him or is he just safe and comfortable? Luke wants Lara back and a forever with her. When he gets the chance tragedy strikes and the slate is wiped clean. Who will win Lara's heart? Lies, secrets and deception abound. Who is the good guy and who is the bad one? Is everyone always what they seem or what they want you to see? Luke is a man who has learned his lesson. He knows what he wants and won't stop till he gets it. Lara is a woman who was hurt. So she isn't easily listening to what her heart wants. They make an amazing couple. They have a few issues to work through. So glad they gave each other the space they needed. Loved the way this story worked out. Read this in a day.

***ONE TASTE*** One Taste is the prequel to Last Chance. I haven't read all of the Second Chance novels but I did meet Luke and Lara in Defending Hayden so I knew part of the story. But having a prequel for their novel is genius. I will make this short. Luke and Lara have been friends for a long time but over the last few months things have changed between them. After losing Kate, Luke turned into a manwhore. Lara hated seeing this since she once had a crush on him. But now, she just gives him the cold shoulder and a hard time. But he doesn't want to give up. He wants her and after getting one taste, he wants more but she is done. She thought he could change but she was wrong. Now Luke has to work even harder to prove to her that he can be the man she thought he could be before is it too late? I am so glad that I don't have to wait to find out what happens next. I will be reading Last Chance right after I finish this up. Yay!! I have a feeling that I am going to love it. These characters are stubborn, funny, and flirty. So I am so ready for the ride... You are looking pretty hot in those shorts.” I scoffed and muttered, “I guess I should’ve expected that, having a vagina and all.” “Hands to yourself tonight, Collins. Now let me go.” ***LAST CHANCE*** Last Chance is the final book in the Second Chances Series. After reading it, there is one more character I would love to see get a book. Who knows maybe there will be a spin-off in the future. Anyway, back to Luke and Lara's story... It's been one year since Lara walked away from Luke. She was now with Grayson, a man that has loved her for years. Luke knows this but he will not give up on them. He could see that she isn't happy with Grayson and knows in his heart that she loves him. She just won't give him a chance to explain what happened after their one night together. It changed everything. She just didn't know it. He just wants one last chance to prove to her that he is the man that she has always loved. Lara loves Grayson but she still thinks about that night with Luke. She knows Grayson would never break her heart like Luke did. But that doesn't mean she doesn't love him. She is torn and when she wakes up in a hospital bed without memories of the last five years, she is even more confused. Two men are vying for her love. She doesn't want to hurt either of them but she has to make a choice between Grayson and Luke. She doesn't know if she will ever get her memory back so she has to rely on her instincts and the way her body responds to the men touch. She doesn't know who to believe so that's all she has left. Who will she gravitate to? Who can she trust with her memories? Who does she want a future with? I loved this story!! Luke sees this as a way to start over with Lara and Grayson sees it as a way for her to forget about Luke. They all have to fight for what they want. Even if they have to fight dirty. There are definitely some surprises. Good and bad. There are some heartbreaking moments and heartwarming ones too. I cared for all of the characters but I had my favorite from the start. I fell hard and fast. It happens. In the end will it be Lara choose Grayson, the man that she knows won't break her heart or Luke, the man that already has one upon a time? Overall...it gave me all of the feels. I laughed. Cried. Wanted to hit someone. Wanted to hug someone. And cried again. Quotes: “All I’m asking for is the chance to tell her how I feel. I can’t have her running away from me.” “You’re not going to treat me like I’m going to break, are you?” “All you have to do is show me who you really are. Right now, I have no clue.”

Another amazing installment in the Second Chances Series!! Luke Collins has been in love with Lara Jacobs since their one night stand a year ago. He knows that he messed up and would give just about anything to make up for the mistakes he made. Lara Jacobs has spent the past year trying to move on from the heartbreak she experienced at the hand of Luke Collins. Once she gets engaged to Grayson, she realizes that she will never love anyone as much as she loves Luke. After the accident that almost ends her life, Lara is left with no memory of the past five years. Luke and Grayson now have the opportunity to fight for Lara with a clean slate. I have’t read all of the books in this series. It definitely can be read as a standalone and you won’t feel like you’ve missed anything. I loved Luke when he was in Intercepting Love and am so glad that he got his own story. There was a huge range of emotions felt during the course of this book. I laughed and cried and was on the edge of my seat. This author connects you to the characters in every single book from the very first page. I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the books in this series that I’ve missed! *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
