Description

Darius Varkas is a drakon. He's neither human nor dragon.

He's both.

He's also the target of an ancient order who want to capture all drakons for their blood. When fresh, a drakon's blood can cure any illness and prolong a human's life, and the Knights will stop at nothing to get it.

When librarian Sarah Anderson stumbles across a rare book belonging to the Knights of the Dragon, she's quickly thrust into a dangerous world of secrets and shifters and things she never would have believed possible. When the Knights realize Sarah has a secret of her own, she becomes just as much a target as Darius. Her scary dragon shifter just might be her best chance at survival.

This book captured my attention from the cover art and took me on a fantastic journey of suspense, pulling me forward into the depths of the characters, their trust and their love. The descriptive text enabled me to feel the action as the story unfolded. Darius could cry diamonds for me any time! 😉 In my opinion, this book is worth the read and I am looking forward to reading book two of this series.
  • Good start but could still use some work...

The plot idea and characters are well thought and good. My only problem is the book feels rushed. I’m a sucker for romance and guy protects girls stuff, but Darius’ and Sarah’s relationship was rushed.
  • Unfinished

The author didn’t finish the story. The knights were still a group and after Darius and Sarah. The knights were after Darius and the plot didn’t conclude. The book ended with the book being destroyed and the knights were after Darius and Sarah. The book was good but spent way too much time discussing logistics and minute details. Most of the book was fluff, unimportant and didn’t add to the book. The story didn’t end and the series focuses on the other siblings.
  • Very Sexy paranormal romance

This author was a nice surprise for a lower cost series. She's almost up there with Sherrilyn Kenyon, J. R. Ward, and Christine Feehan. Several sexy scenes in each book, and still a good storyline.

I’ve read N.J.Walters before and I have always enjoyed her books, so when I was given the chance to read Drakon’s Promise, the first in a new dragon series, I jumped at it. Although the downside of getting to read it early is that I am going to have to wait even longer for the sequel to come out, which will be hard because I loved this book. Darius Varkas is the son of a dragon and a human woman, therefore he is a Drakon. Darius is a 7 ft tall, strong, smart billionaire who just happens to be a few thousand years old and can change into a dragon at will. He’s also a bit of a loner since he’s lost a lot of human friends over the years, and while he loves his three brothers, he has never been in love. He’s also being hunted for his blood. Which brings us to Sarah Anderson, a brilliant librarian who has a pretty great secret ability herself. Sarah who was working for the New York library finds herself without a job, until she gets the chance to work for a private collector. Sounds great until she overhears something she isn’t supposed to, leading her to Darius. Now they have to protect each other. I loved how the relationship between Darius and Sarah unfolded, I love Sarah, I really love that she is no push over. Darius’s brothers are a nice addition and I enjoyed what we get to see of their relationship, I am very much looking forward to the next books in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, action, shifters, and especially drakons. *I received a copy of this book for free for my honest review.
