Description

From a New York Times bestselling author, an FBI agent becomes a suspected serial killer's next-door neighbor.

FBI agent Drex Easton is driven by a single goal: to outmaneuver sociopath Weston Graham, who's responsible for the disappearance of eight women. But each time Drex gets close to catching him, Weston trades one persona for another and disappears again.

Now, for the first time in their long game of cat and mouse, Drex might have his chance. His suspect has recently married a succesful businesswoman, Talia Shafer. Drex poses himself as their new neighbor, waiting for the right moment to strike–but his attraction to Talia threatens to compromise his mission.

This is Drex's one chance to outfox his cunning nemesis before he murders again–but first he must determine whether Talia is a heartless accomplice...or the next victim.

Wow ! I read reviews before I bought this book one person seemed disappointed . I was not the least bit. I loved this book. Never have I been dissatisfied or disappointed by any Sandra Brown books. I’m suggesting it to my Book Club. Anxiously awaiting S.B.’s next book.

I really like Sandra Brown, but of the ones I’ve read, this one was somewhat disappointing. To long, and had similar plot to one of her other books.

I reread it again at one setting. Sandra Brown is the author of all authors. This book was so well written that you knew what was going to happen but still had to read each word. Bravo Mrs Brown
  • Murder Case or Love Story??

I had a hard time figuring out if I was reading a Murder Mystery or a Love Story or a “I want to make Love to you”. It kind of dragged on for a little too long, but then got interesting. Finally it all came together and it was Murder/Love Mystery. Great ending always brings it together.

This is the first Sandra Brown I wasn’t able to finish. Made it 72% of the way through. I am a fan but this book was not up to par for her.
  • Outdone!

SB has outdone herself with this story and with all she has written, that’s saying something! I disappeared into this story. When I had to set it down to do life, my brain kept going over parts of the story to try and guess what would happen next. And the feels: I was freaked out, and anxious, and surprised, and nervous, and puzzled, and relieved, and glad for the laugh. I don’t say this often, but now that I’m done, I feel like re-reading again immediately. An EXCELLENT read.
  • Lots of Action and Some Steamy Love Scenes

Sandra Brown never disappoints when it comes to mystery and this book was full of it. Jasper is the serial killer, Drex is his nemesis and Talia is the woman they both want. Jasper wants to kill her and Drex wants to love her. There were a lot of minor characters in the book that were very memorable. My favorites were Gif and Mike who represented loyalty and faithfulness to a cause. I did not like the use of course language, but since Ms. Brown includes it in all of her books, I was not surprised by it. Likewise for the sex scenes; the descriptions were very graphic and many times I just scanned them because it wasn’t really something that I wanted to read. All it all, it was a good book with a real twist at the end.

Oh, Sandra Brown. There’s no author I’ve read—ever—who so consistently knocks the ball out of the park. I’ve read every single book of hers the day it came out—then reread and reread over and over. I don’t know how she manages to make each one steamy and smart and suspenseful in a new way every single time. She’s, quite simply, incomparable.
