Description

When a TV reporter is injured in a Dallas-bound jet crash, she enters a world of mistaken identity and political intrigue in this action-packed romantic suspense novel -- a Globe and Mail bestseller!
The crash of a Dallas-bound jet isn't just a tragedy for TV reporter Avery Daniels; it's an act of fate that hands her a golden opportunity to further her career. But it also makes her the crucial player in a drama of violent passions and deadly desires.

After plastic surgery transforms her face, Avery is mistaken for the glamorous, selfish wife of Tate Rutledge, the famous senatorial candidate and member of a powerful Texas dynasty.

As she lays helpless in the hospital, Avery makes a shattering discovery: someone close to Tate planned to assassinate him. Now, to save him, she must live another woman's life -- and risk her own.

I loved it, but it has been many years ago that I read it. I, too, thought that maybe it was a "new" book, but I read the excerpt first. It was already in paperback when I read it. A friend gave me hers and I believe I passed it along to someone else. It's really worth reading again.

Be wary of Sandra Brown books in iTunes. Evidently someone in her organization or at Apple, is listing her books as new, this one published June 1990, because they are now in e-book format. A disgrace.
  • Couldn't put this one down!

This may have been published earlier, as some people mentioned in their reviews, but it's the first time I've read it and it was a page-turner for sure! The author puts a lot of suspense scattered with some steamy scenes to keep the reader very interested. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read the rest of Ms. Brown's books.

I love, love, love this book, but I will admit it is not new at all. I am glad it's available for my iPad so I can "re-visit an old friend" but I too wish that they would state that this is a "re-released" book. It's a bit misleading for some.

This book was excellent! The only problem was that I couldn't put it down and loss some sleep. Sandra Brown has done it again.
  • This is NOT a new book. Published in 1990!

It annoys me to purchase a book that I have already read. Apple should be ashamed to mislead people into thinking books are new releases when the are not.
