Weekend Fling

Returning home after a failed relationship, Willow Parks vows to not ever put herself in the position to depend on a male again. She spends her days working two jobs so her mom doesn’t lose her home and caring for her mom. So there’s really not any time for a personal life anyway. Her mom is broken and can barely get herself out of bed since her husband left her and filed for divorce. Willow knows she needs professional help, but can’t convince her mom to get help. Willow sees how devastating depending on a man to provide, take care of all the bills can be. So when Trey approaches her for a date, she turns him down. Trey Collins, a multi-million dollar tech mogul, has eyes for Willow. He has tried multiple times to ask her out, but she always turns him down. He even visits, works from the coffee shop so he can see her daily. He knows she’s always there and always works hard, but it’s the rest of the package that has him so intrigued. He figures if he can just convince her to go on one date, he can convince her to give him a chance. Opportunity finally presents itself and he convinces her to be his date for a weekend getaway for his best friend’s wedding. Knowing that she could use an all-expense paid vacation, she agrees. When the amazing weekend comes to an abrupt halt due to a family emergency, the walls go back up and she pushes Trey away... Stacey Lynn has written a beautiful story touching on realistic, emotional, and heavy topics. Depression, attempted suicide, and dependency are tough topics addressed throughout this novel. As an only child, who mistakenly thinks her dad has abandoned them, Willow struggles to get her mom help. Her mom neglected the house, the bills, and anything that once mattered to her. Willow comes home to a house basically in foreclosure and is doing her best to pay the bills while NOT becoming her mom. Trey is a true Prince Charming. He’s supportive without being needy. He doesn’t just step in, take over, and pay the bills. He leaves Willow to make her own decisions and choices because he knows that’s what she needs. While this story ends in a HEA, the topics discussed are serious and realistic. I highly recommend this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I have been dying for Trey's story since reading 28 Dates. This series has been fun and light but Trey's book is quite a bit heavier than all the books before it. I loved all of the emotion and Trey is my favorite of the series. I did want more of Trey and Willow and felt like the end was kind of abrupt. Overall, I enjoyed their story and this series a lot.

Great book. Fairytale romance. Touches on mental health issues in a realistic way but not too heavy. Liked it!

This is a great addition to the Crazy in Love series. Willow is having a really tough time, she is holding down two jobs, just out of a bad long term relationship, and taking care of her depressed mother. Her part-time job is in a coffee shop where Trey frequents. From the first time the successful tech entrepreneur laid eyes on Willow, he was smitten. After months of asking her out, and being rejected, Willow finally says yes to a weekend as his date to his best friend’s wedding. Things are going great until Willow’s life crashes around her. Trey is the perfect guy, smart, kind, loyal, rich and handsome. Willow is a great person who is just hanging on by a thread, and needs a nice patient guy like Trey. Together, they are a really likable couple. I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

I am really enjoying this series by Ms. Lynn.  And this story is another fantastic addition! Weekend Fling is Trey & Willow's story. Willow is drowning in responsibilities.  She is trying to do the best she can with what she knows. Trey is a breath of fresh air in Willow's world. He is someone who could be such a bright light in Willow's world if she would just accept it. I applaud Ms. Lynn with her approach to depression in this story.  It doesn't overwhelm the story but it also brings to light the overwhelming and devastating disease that is depression and how it not only affects the individual but the family and friends that surround them. The chemistry between Trey & Willow is just wowza and I liked how Trey was able to take care of Willow when she needed it most.  He was who she needed him to be. Get your hands on this story!

Such a well written book filled with real problems. I loved the flirtation, emotional baggage and pacing. Sometimes having a character with loads of money can make for an unrealistic story. This was not the case in Weekend Fling. It was raw, real and romantic. I absolutely loved the gentle pushes and a subtle displays of support. Friends are there for a shoulder and this was such an enjoyable book.
