Description

There's nothing I wouldn't do for my best friend.

Like, hide the fact I've been in love with her for years.

Or agree to be her fake boyfriend when we have to return to her hometown for her exes wedding.

Little does Jillian know this is what I've been waiting for.

It's a dream come true. I finally get to touch her and love her in all the ways I've been dying to show her.

For one weekend only, she's mine, even if she thinks it's fake.

Pretending to love her is easy.

I want her to be mine forever.

Getting Jillian to admit it's what she wants too, is another thing.

On or off the ice, I have no problems fighting dirty to get what I want.

But this is one fight I might just lose.

Klaus, a member of the California Ice Kings, has been best friends with Jillian the last several years. They have several of the same friends, interests, etc. Klaus has also been in love with Jillian since the day they met, but the timing was always off. It didn’t change his feelings though. When Jillian is backed into the corner and expected to make an appearance at her ex-fiancé’s wedding, she asks Klaus to be her “fake” boyfriend. He jumps at the chance to finally show Jillian that they could be so much more than friends—the timing is perfect! Jillian grew up in an emotionally neglected home. She was the only child, born into wealth and Charleston society. There were expectations. But Jillian was never one to bow down to her parents. She left for college and never looked back. Now her parents are hosting her ex’s wedding rehearsal and she’s expected to be there. Her parents are secretly hoping she’ll forgive her cheating ex and stop the wedding. So Jillian asks her best friend, who she’s secretly crushed on for a few years, to be her “fake” boyfriend. Little does she know that Klaus is “ALL IN” and will do anything to prove to Jillian they are perfect for each other—while rubbing it in her ex’s face that she’s found love elsewhere. This was the BEST book EVER!!! This was the 5th book in the series and probably the best! I LOVED Jillian’s grandma. She was lively, spirited, and REAL—a lot like Jillian. She spoke her mind and didn’t hold anything back. I loathed Julianna! She was pure evil! I laughed, cried, and rooted for Klaus to get his HEA. I want a Klaus! I enjoyed the dynamics in the relationships between the mothers and daughters. Family is hard work! Lastly, I loved how the story ended. Must read! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

From book 1, I’ve been a hardcore Ice Knights fan. I may not be a fan of hockey IRL, but on the page m I can’t get enough and this team is a huge fan. I barely have words for how much I loved Klaus and Jillian. At times they made me want to rage but mostly they made me swoon. I hated Jillian’s family but I loved her grandmother and how Klaus was there on the worst weekend ever. Jillian is seriously a better person than about 95% of the people I know, myself included. I laughed and cried and everything in between while reading this story. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Every book in this series has been better than the one before it and has me looking forward to the next member of this team getting their own HEA.
