Description

After a nasty divorce, Bethany Stafford-Lyons is forced to transform herself from a high-society housewife into one of London’s worker bees. Using a last connection to her previous life, she lands a job at Pemberton Fine Arts, a world-renowned gallery and restoration studio. With her art degree, it should have been the perfect role, but she soon finds working for Hugo Pemberton is a challenge in more ways than one.

Eight years ago, Alaric McLain got fired from the FBI after an undercover operation ended in disaster. Still missing? One masterpiece, ten million dollars in cash and diamonds, and his once-glowing reputation. When he retreated overseas to lick his wounds, he made a vow—he’d find The Girl with the Emerald Ring if it was the last thing he did.

The trail leads to Chelsea, where assisted by his ex-girlfriend and a seventeen-year-old brat he wants to handcuff to a railroad track, Alaric’s soon embroiled in a game of cat and mouse with a talented team of thieves. Let the fun begin…

  • My favorite series by far.

I LOVE the Blackwood Security books. I have been dying to learn more about Alaric since Emmy met up with him in that basement. Alaric is fantastic and Bethany is hysterical and charming. I cannot wait to read the next two books. I honestly did not think I’d love any character as much as I do Emmy but Alaric is close to pulling ahead. And hint hint Elise I’d also love books for all the Sirius boys. If you have not read any of the Blackwood Series I cannot recommend them enough. The characters are smart, witty, sarcastic, sexy, and have great back stories. Her storylines are interesting and not cookie cutter.

You'll be hooked immediately. With the backstory of Alaric, the introduction of new characters, and the best part, Emmy finds a mini-me! If that doesn't intrigue you to read, nothing will. The story includes an art heist, the rebirth of a socialitè, and much much more. With every book of Elise’s, her characters pop up in other books to reveal additional details about them, which keeps you wanting more. Just read it, you won't regret it!

An exciting adventure in London, full of mystery and fun. Who pulled off the double cross? Will they find the missing paintings or the missing woman? Can Emmy be friends with someone who eats pineapple on their pizza??? Linda Long

Right from the beginning, it is apparent that The Girl with the Emerald Ring is the beginning of an articulate design that spaces in more than just one book; the Girl with the Emerald Ring is, in fact, the first book of a Trilogy. The plot design is rich with plenty of ramifications, and the cast of characters is memorable. Ms. Noble created a slate of new intriguing characters while, at the same time, giving new depth to her old ones. Alaric, the protagonists, is a complex, multi-faceted character. Every few chapters, a new side of his personality emerges, often unexpected, giving him an intriguing and fascinating persona. Bethany, the co-protagonist, is a smart and sweet woman. Born and raised as a socialitè, she has recently divorced her cheating husband and is now resolute to take control of her life. Initially hesitant and insecure, she gradually finds her voice and reveals as an intelligent, sensitive, and generous individual. In Quicksilver, Black found his potential heir. In The Girl with the Emerald Ring, Emmy stumbles in a teenage girl with a similar backstory. She immediately recognizes her potential and takes her under her wing. Sky, whose personality is already hardened by years in foster care and living on the streets, is quick and witty, generous, and loyal. Their partnership promises to be quite a story in the upcoming books. I love how the author expands the personalities of her recurring characters. Emmy is the protagonist of many of Ms. Noble's books, and yet she is never quite the same. As she gets older, her personality grows and matures, presenting new facets and never failing to intrigue the reader. Finally, The Girl with the Emerald Ring is, above all, pure entertainment. Ms. Noble's prose is rich and articulate, pervaded by a very British sense of humor that makes the reader smile and, at times, laugh out loud. Of course, being the first book in a trilogy, The Girl with the Emerald Ring ends with plenty of unresolved situations. In this case, however, the promise of new, exhilarating adventures is such that the only regret is that the time until the next instalment is way too long.

Great start to the series! The Girl with the Emerald Ring is a new book in the Blackwood Security Series. It’s the first book in a trilogy and I couldn’t put it down. There was so much going on including drama, art heists, and stolen cars and we also have the introduction of a few new characters that I squeed over. Sky and Bethany make their debut with a splash. Bethany is our main girl and she is a suspect in Alaric’s eyes. Naturally when the two meet we start to see the duo grow before our eyes. Alaric has popped up in other books but this is his story and I’ve been calmly (NOT)waiting to read. Last we have Sky and she is a bad A**! Her intro was such a surprise that the book just became even more awesome in my eyes. Loved the whole thing and can’t wait for more.

The Girl With The Emerald Ring is really well written and I LOVE it! I have so many questions, I cannot wait for the next book! I am so invested in Bethany, Alaric, Sky, Emmy, and the rest I can’t wait to read more about them. So so so great! I highly recommend this book!! But if you haven’t read the Blackwood series, I highly recommend starting with Pitch Black and reading from the beginning. I sincerely love this series, and once again another fantastic novel by Elise Noble!
