Description
New York Times Bestseller
The new must-read epic from master storyteller Ken Follett: more than a thriller, it’s an action-packed, globe-spanning drama set in the present day.
“A compelling story, and only too realistic.” —Lawrence H. Summers, former U.S. Treasury Secretary
“Every catastrophe begins with a little problem that doesn’t get fixed.” So says Pauline Green, president of the United States, in Follett’s nerve-racking drama of international tension.
A shrinking oasis in the Sahara Desert; a stolen US Army drone; an uninhabited Japanese island; and one country’s secret stash of deadly chemical poisons: all these play roles in a relentlessly escalating crisis.
Struggling to prevent the outbreak of world war are a young woman intelligence officer; a spy working undercover with jihadists; a brilliant Chinese spymaster; and Pauline herself, beleaguered by a populist rival for the next president election.
Never is an extraordinary novel, full of heroines and villains, false prophets and elite warriors, jaded politicians and opportunistic revolutionaries. It brims with cautionary wisdom for our times, and delivers a visceral, heart-pounding read that transports readers to the brink of the unimaginable.

Never
5By Old Pump GuyKnown for his historical epics such as the Kingsbridge novels and the Century Trilogy has now joined the ranks of spy and military/Techno writers such as Tom Clancy. With “Never”, he takes you into an era of modern day intrigue. The settings bounce around from Africa, the US, Asia and Europe. The interweaving plots will keep the reader riveted and amazed.Terrific! Many characters to follow (and care about), but done SO well.

5By Wet againAn amazing read that centers on a crisis involving north and South Korea. North Korea bombs South Korea with a nuclear bomb. America bombs North Korea military bases with nuclear bombs. World War III has now started and civilization as we know it has ceased to exist. A very emotionally involved read and very believable. My highest recommendation!!Depressing
4By FritzBoMoeDon’t read if you’re looking for a storybook ending.Everyone should read this
4By PropertyloverThis book is unfortunately not far fetched. All it takes is one unhinged leader in one country to set off war. And then a series of responses by the rest of the world, all with their reasons, all with their ideals, thinking they are doing the right thing, causes the destruction of us all. Great read. But too easy to imagine to let me sleep at night.Beginning of the End
