A Man of Wealth

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 in the series and it does NOT stand alone. The last book, Man of Power, which was the first book in the series featured Sebastien who was the politician and it paired him with his young, new hire Alexis. At the end of that story Alexis had been kidnapped and she identified Connor's father as the kidnapper and this book is about Connor, his father and his enemy in the press, Vivienne Westerly and also the secret society of TOD, the brotherhood and the Vow. Viv is a new character to this series. She is a tough reporter who is on the hunt for a story in relation to this drug. Connor hates her, because of what she wrote about his deceased mother, than that he actually knows her. She also hates Connor as well but more for who she thinks he is, rather than who he actually is. There is a beauty and the beast element to this story with Connor being both the beauty and also the beast. These two start off hating each other, but more of what they know of each other until they actually start getting to know each other in person and start to fall for each other. I really enjoyed going along with them on their adventures as they try and find out how this drug is getting into the country and whose behind it and what secrets Connor's father is hiding. This story had A LOT of sex scenes. Much more than the first book. This book also ups the suspense as things get dangerous. I liked the first book more because it was more about romance than the suspense. This book was more about the drama and suspense than the romance. I also felt that Viv and Connor fell a bit fast for each other.
