Description
Kinsey Millhone ventures into the darker side of the human soul in this gripping novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Sue Grafton.
Kinsey Millhone never sees it coming. She is mired in the case of a doctor who disappeared, his angry ex-wife, and beautiful current one—a case that is full of unfinished business, unfinished homes, and people drifting in and out of their own lives. Then Kinsey gets a shock. A man she finds attractive is hiding a fatal secret—and now a whole lot of beauty, money, and lies are proving to be a fatal distraction from what Kinsey should have seen all along: a killer standing right before her eyes...
Reviews
P = disappointing
3By GoldnfanI wanted to give this a better review, but the ending wasn’t. It didn’t tie up the loose ends or answer the reader’s questions...almost like there was a chapter missing. Sad, because I’ve enjoyed the series till now. Big letdown.P is for Peril
3By Myob2This was my first Grafton book and will likely be my last. Though the plot was good and I liked the characters there is so much flowery descriptive it gets in the way of a tight story flow. Vocabulary is so elusive that in many cases I had to look up the words for definitions. In one case so obscure that the Merriam Webster site asked me for info on where & how I'd come across the word. Nuff said?Not one of her best
3By charwoodpupI love Kinsey but this was a little slow in parts. Not a fan of the ending!Too many letters
3By NotBrightEnoughThe earlier were much better. Even after adjusting for the period, there were just too many plot holes, too many details where details were not needed, and by P there is too much a formula.Unfinished
2By BoopanySue Grafton leaves nearly everything unanswered at the end, and this book has no epilogue. It would have been a favorite but it is sincerely unfinished. Like her publishers simply cut her off at a page count. Very disappointed.P for Peril
4By Carol, NJDisappointed she did Not finish this book without an epilog. Why bother reading the whole book and you don't even know where it's goingP is for Peril
4By Soccer Mom 2002Why the different type ending than the other books in the series??? No epilogue???Good story but many problems!
3By Fiesty oneLoved the story, very twisty with various plots. Be prepared for MANY typos and the ending is missing! Not pleased, feel like the story didn't end.P is for peril
4By P2filmsI'm perplexed. This book was really good but seemed to be missing the end pages.P is for peril
3By LetsDoItBackWardsCome on Sue you can't end the book like that. You usually wrap things up so tidily I am disappointed. GOD bless
