Description

Now a major motion picture streaming on Netflix starring Felicity Jones, Shailene Woodley, Callum Turner, Nabhaan Rizwan and Joe Alwyn

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars, a sophisticated, page-turning double love story spanning forty years

It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing-not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband.

Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives. She becomes obsessed by the story and hopeful that it can resurrect her faltering career. Perhaps if these lovers had a happy ending she will find one to her own complicated love life, too. Ellie's search will rewrite history and help her see the truth about her own modern romance.

A spellbinding, intoxicating love story with a knockout ending, The Last Letter from Your Lover will appeal to the readers who have made One Day and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society bestsellers.

Usually I am always book>movie…don’t know if the movie was just truly that good but I actually liked the movie more. Still a good read though

Jennifer’s story started out to me a bit slower but once I was piecing the characters together I really started to love what I read. The love Jennifer has with her lover is romantic and rare. It has inspired me to consider how I write my wedding vows to my husband.

Man do I love Jojo Moyes. I’m such a sucker for true love. It took until about 1/4 of the way through this one to get hooked but then I HAD to know what happened. I so desperately wanted Jennifer and Anthony to get there HEA. I never guessed what was going to happen in this book which I absolutely loved. Again Moyes makes me a sappy romantic and a believer in true love. I suggest this book if you need something lovely but also a little mystery in your life.
  • Better than the movie (duh)

Watched the recent Netflix movie and appreciated it. So naturally I had to read the movie. So happy I did. So much better. So many great beautiful romantic scenes. Gave me Voyager (Outlander) vibes. Such a beautiful beautiful story!

Such an amazing book. Even though the circumstances are not ideal, the feeling of love still warmed my heart. I wanted nothing but happiness for the main characters.

Came across this book and started reading the sample, and I was hooked. I bought it, and read the book immediately. Well written, with characters who feel real/multidimensional. The superficiality of a 1960s decorative housewife reminds me of 2021 social media “perfection”, and had me rooting for Jennifer to break free and be her real self.
  • BEST BOOK I’VE EVER READ!

This book was beautifully written. It is elegant, romantic and heart-wrenching. It is my favorite! I originally read it over 8 years ago, I still have it in my collection.

It took a while for the story to pick up steam and really hook me but it was worth it. The back and forth timeline formJennifer’s story in 1960 was a little disjointed at first but it made the conclusion better. I enjoyed the characters in both parts of the story. In the end a feel good read.

Did not find this as gripping as other books I have read by the same author.

Another one of JoJo’s wonderfully written books. So many twists and turns giving us a look at life and love I enjoyed it thoroughly.
