Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum’s life is set to blow sky high when international murder hits dangerously close to home in this dynamite novel by Janet Evanovich.

“The most popular mystery writer alive.”—The New York Times

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127 Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Only one other person has seen the missing photo—Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch artist Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills, she’ll need to watch her back.

Over at the bail bonds agency things are going from bad to worse. The bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s temporary HQ goes up in smoke. Stephanie’s wheelman, Lula, falls in love with their largest skip yet. Lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment. And everyone wants to know what happened in Hawaii?

Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t talking about Hawaii.  And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is . . . It’s complicated.

Love the Stephanie Plum novels. They make you laugh and always have lots of action. Never disappointing.

I have nothing positive to say about this bunch of scattered sentences that make no sense. I wouldn’t refer to this as a coherent story or a book

I started reading these books a few weeks ago. I had to start at one. (OCD). I don't understand the bad reviews. I'm in it for a fun read and it would all be ruined if Stephanie settled for just one man. Getting ready to start 18 and know I'll love it as much as the others. 17 was great and as always- hysterical!!!!

This book fell flat for me. I have read the series multiple times, and always enjoy the books no matter how many times overhead them. I'm not sure what happened here, but I hop it doesn't happen again...
  • Dreadfully awful

This book was dull, contrite & frankly a chore to read. It was like walking through a swamp on a hot day: exhausting, draining, & unnecessary. One of the most incompetent "heroines" I have ever had the displeasure to read. How exactly has the author stretched this bore of a series into 18 books?? Thin plot. Weak, generic, characters. Predictable & annoying scenarios. Not very believable plot lines & the lead character's actions are just plain stupid. As am I, the reader, for not reading the book's free preview (sample) on iBooks & just wasting my time & money. Never again. Always read the sample first. Always.

I loved this book! I had a bad day and flew through it! Janet has the wonderful ability to be completely over the top, and down to earth at the same time. Her characters are rich. I feel like they are extended family I'm hearing stories about.

I have read all of her books ,the last few are not her usual . She needs to make a decision & get into more silly situations. Personally I would pick Ranger. But she needs to dig into his past.
  • Enjoy reading now

As always, Evanovich does not disappoint. Her books are so entertaining and light hearted, that putting it down is impossible. I love that I don't need a dictionary and a masters degree to enjoy the read. It takes you into a great place and keeps the reader there. She really knows how to keep the hits coming. Thanks again......I can't wait for Ninteen.

I don't know how the author changed her writing style but this book is simply not worth the money nor the effort it took to read it. I finished it only to make sure that I don't waste my time or effort worrying that maybe the author redeemed herself at the very end of the book.I wonder if the agent, editor or publisher bothered to read this book before they dropped it on the lap of an unsuspecting public, knowing that fans would never dream that Evanovich would deliver such garbage. Shame on each of you. Good luck with Nineteen; you're going to need it.
