Description
It’s been three months since former enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon and the notorious assassin Sicarius thwarted kidnappers and saved the emperor’s life. The problem? Nobody knows they were responsible for this good deed. Worse, they’re being blamed for the entire scheme. With enforcers and bounty hunters stalking them, and the emperor nursing a personal hatred for Sicarius, it’s going to be hard to earn exoneration.
When Amaranthe’s team discovers mutilated bodies in the city aqueducts and a mysterious illness incapacitates thousands of citizens, she and Sicarius see an opportunity to solve the mystery and prove their loyalty. But they’ll have to defeat vengeful shamans, man-eating predators, and deadly mechanical constructs, all while dodging imperial soldiers who would rather kill them than accept their help.
Nobody said exoneration would be easy.
A heroic fantasy novel in an age of steam. 105,000 words.

Good read so far
5By Souldealer62Nice mix of “science” and tech. Interesting interplay between charactersThe adventure contines
4By JifieurididiReally rich characters. I found myself interested in them much more than the plot. The few interactions with sacarius and amamanthe was the jewels of the story. I wished for more of themFun and captivating
5By AereisdinFan of high fantasy books, I recommend this series of books. Fun, whimsical and a great read. I look forward to seeing what other works the author will bring to the table in the future.I'm hooked now
5By M.M.212I found this series through a low cost short story compilation called Ice Cracker II. The first book in the series was good but this one was a real page turner. I didn't think sci-fi action was for me (favoring romantic steampunk) but I've been won over and will start on the next book immediately.Awesome series so far!
