A quick and easy read about another adventure for Police Chief Jesse Stone of Paradise, Maine. Jesse continues his struggle with his drinking and is now joined by his ex-wife who is now a weather forecaster for a local TV station. Along comes a gang of robbers with a get rich quick scheme to make waves in the small town. Another Robert Parker classic.
Great read.

Excellent work. The books are better than the TV movies. Parker is an very good writer. Worth the time.
I am hooked.

Really good read, even though main plot somewhat unrealistic. Lots of action and excitement. Good ending.
The hero is a wimp!

I enjoyed the book, it’s the second one I’ve read, and will be the last one I read. Although I don’t like that in both books, a bad guy escapes, what I hate is Jesse’s relationship with his ex wife. He’s a wimp. There are better books out there to read than to read a book where I don’t respect the main man. No more of his books for me.
