Description

In this paranormal romance, when a mysterious woman rescues a handsome Immortal from danger, it’s only the first of many surprises she has for him.

Ami isn’t much for trusting strangers. She has a hard time trusting anyone. But she’s no coward, and she’s no pushover in the protection department either. So when she comes across a mysterious warrior taking on eight deranged vampires on his own, she doesn’t hesitate to save his bacon. Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into…

Marcus Graden has been an Immortal protector of humanity for eight hundred years, and he’s not interested in backup. From the moment Ami arrives in his life, he can’t deny that she’s strong, smart, and extremely skilled at watching his back. But she’s also destroying his protective solitude and stirring desires he can’t bear to awaken. After all, whatever her secrets—how can she defeat death itself?

After reading the first book in the series, I reluctantly downloaded the sample Night Reigns. To my surprise it picked up on another story of love and science fiction from the members of the Immortal Guardians. The love portion became very cheesy at times, but fit within reason to continue reading. This book develops on the life of Ami who was saved by Seth and David in the first book. Without spoiling any details from the story I can tell you that I really enjoyed the storyline of Ami and where this book takes you. I do very much dislike how the author drops from the lives of Sarah and Roland and moves on to another love story between members of the clan. Roland and Sarah are not followed much in this book, and this seems to be the author's fashion in the next book as well from the sample i have just completed reading. Ami and her lover are thrown by the wayside to develop on another immortal falling for love. Which is okay of you are looking for borderline erotica and a slightly interesting story line. I sure do hope there is more to come out of the clips we read of Seth and Ami with their origins. Otherwise, I will move on to another series. Another note that I would like to mention is that one would think the author would tie in more of the first couple Roland and Sarah but instead gives you the whole, they live happily ever after and they are here and there when it comes to battle. Yes, Roland is "anti-social", but Marcus plays a large role in this book and he is supposedly the one who is closest to Roland. While the book leaves you with desire for the author to finish the gaps, it was a decent read. I enjoyed it more than the first book in the series.

I loved the first book nice story about the immortals, then I get this one and is weird. I would have loved if she would stay with human and immortals not aliens. I must say I was disappointed about this story. Overall, it was a good story, it just needs to stay away from aliens and immortals.
