—The New York Times Book Review
The eighth Longmire novel from the New York Times bestselling author Land of Wolves
Embarking on his eighth adventure, Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire doesn't have time for cowboys and criminals. His daughter, Cady, is getting married in two weeks, and the wedding locale arrangements have just gone up in smoke signals. Fearing Cady's wrath, Walt and his old friend Henry Standing Bear set out for the Cheyenne Reservation to find a new site for the nuptials. But their expedition ends in horror as they witness a young Crow woman plummeting from Painted Warrior's majestic cliffs. Is it a suicide, or something more sinister? It's not Walt's turf, but he's coerced into the investigation by Lolo Long, the beautiful new tribal police chief.

1By NosaleStop writing or get a plot to write about. That was a bunch of nothing! I'm through. The last several books have been nothing. As the Crow Flies
5By Holy mole22233453456As usual Craig does a great job. Introduced a lot of new characters, spent a lot of time on the Res, and I had no clue who done it until the very end. Glad the tv show is on, it will tide me over until the next novel. Read them all many times, liked them all. Craig thanks for your attention to detail, multi sub plots, your description of the wedding, well done.KT
5By KimmyntI have read all of Mr. Johnson's Sheriff Longmire books. They are a great read with good stories. The characters are believable. And the mystic Native American parts are wonderful and rich. One of the Best
4By Broken94I've read all the Walt Longmire books and this ranks as one of the best! I like the book's setting - the Rez. The main character is such a well defined individual; the father in him really comes out in this book. Keep them coming Mr. Johnson.
