Description
Walt Longmire is back after the escapades of First Frost and encounters one of his most baffling cases in Wyoming’s brutal and unforgiving Red Desert.
When Blair McGowan, the mail person with the longest postal route in the country of over three hundred mile a day, goes missing the question becomes—where do you look for her? The Postal Inspector for the State of Wyoming elicits Sheriff Longmire to mount an investigation into her disappearance and Walt does everything but mail it in; posing as a letter-carrier himself, the good sheriff follows her trail and finds himself enveloped in the intrigue of an otherworldly cult.
Packed to the brim with twists and turns, the 21st novel in the New York Times bestselling Longmire series pushes Walt to his absolute limits, forcing him to wrestle with the impossible question: What good are your morals, if you’re marked for the dead letter office?
Reviews
Ok, just not great
3By G'Dad12Good story but slow moving, could have shorten it by couple hundred pages and would have been much better.Return to sender
4By Say-Say JaneAnother interesting book about a Wyoming sheriff and his escapade. If it had been written earlier, John Wayne would have been the perfect actor to take him to the silver screen. As it is the actor in the Netflix series does a credible job. The author does not write like James Lee Burke or Mick Herron, but he has his own style that is enjoyable and fast paced. The protagonist is an honorable straightforward empathetic very well fleshed out character. If I were at risk in Wyoming r anywhere else I would want him at my back and on my side. Having owned a Saint Bernard “dog”is well described.Return to Sender

5By RZelnioFirst, Mr. Johnson, thank you for yet another wonderful novel. After reading several other books, both fiction and non, while waiting for “Return to Sender” to be released, I found your book refreshingly well written and the story as good as ever. But lastly,in the future please don’t make your readers wait so long for the pleasure of reading your next effort!Average
