Description

Ever since his dad got rich from an invention and his family moved to a wealthy neighborhood on Long Island, Tony Miglione’s life has been turned upside down. For starters, there’s his new friend, Joel, who shoplifts. Then there’s Joel’s sixteen-year-old sister, Lisa, who gets undressed every night without pulling down her shades. And there’s Grandma, who won’t come down from her bedroom. On top of all that, Tony has a whole bunch of new questions about growing up. . . .

Why couldn’t things have stayed the same?

I first read this book back when I was 11 right after I finished another Judy Blume classic "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". And both books has made me a bonafide Blume fan for most of my young adult life. I especially like how both books are written from the point of view from the lead character as if you, the reader were in either Tony's or Peter's shoes. By the way, This book was published in 1971. Not '75.

This book is really interesting. I would give it 5 stars. Although talking a bit about sex, it teaches kids about life, such as larynx cancer, having strange friends, drinking beer and having a maid. I highly recommend "Then Again, Maybe I Won't" by Judy Blume.

I read this book when I was a kid. Good read and the author has some insight of what it's like to be a young boy at that age despite the fact that she's a woman. Pick it up, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
