Description
With a friend's child missing, and the police failing, disgraced ex-detective Harper enlists the aid of a former crime boss to untangle a mystery that strikes too close to home. Perfect for fans of Lisa Regan, Rachel Caine, and Tana French. Disgraced ex-detective Harper Adams has nothing left—no job, no reputation, and nowhere to go but back to the small Arkansas town she swore she’d never set foot in again. She plans to keep her head down, stay out of trouble, and drink away what’s left of her pride. Until a girl goes missing. The child of Harper’s childhood friend has vanished without a trace—and the details are disturbingly similar to the kidnapping and murder of Harper’s own sister two decades earlier. With the police bungling the case and the clock ticking, Harper knows she’s the only one who might see what others can’t. The only one who can bring the girl home. But she can’t do it alone. To navigate the lies, secrets, and small-town politics standing in her way, Harper turns to the one man who might be able to help: James Malcolm, a former crime boss with a complicated past and his own reasons for getting involved. In a town that remembers all her mistakes, Harper will have to face her past to save a child’s future—even if it means making a deal with the devil. Gritty, emotional, and impossible to put down, Little Girl Vanished is the first book in a powerful new mystery series for fans of Lisa Regan’s fearless, driven heroines, Rachel Caine’s pulse-pounding suspense, and Tana French’s deeply layered, character-driven mysteries.

5By MidglerAnother fantastic read and a great start to a new series by Denise Grover Swank. Harper is another strong female but is at rock bottom, having to leave a career she loved and moving back to her hometown that holds many painful memories. She finds herself using her detective skills to solve a kidnapping that is similar to her sister’s over twenty years ago. She finds herself reluctantly needing to pair up with a former criminal boss, James (Skeeter) Malcolm. There are many twists and turns and just as soon as you KNOW you have it figured out, something else happens. I look forward to many more books and to see how Harper can grow, change and find her self worth.Little Girl Vanished

This book will draw you in from page one and you will have devoured it before you know it. Harper is amazing and I’m over the moon that James Malcom and even Carter Hale are back in the game. The only flaw is that now I must wait for book two!Another hit outta the park!
5By kls1973As per the norm…excellent read from DGS! I didn’t know how much I’d missed Skeeter Malcom until Denise gave him back to us. Cannot wait to see how everything plays out and new characters meld with old. If you’re on the fence about whether to read a book from Denise Grover Swank wait no more- jump on it right now!Little Girl Vanished
5By Turkey talkThis is a really good book. I love Denise’s flawed characters. Love that she is back writing her books herself. She is my favorite author and will start reading her books again now that it is only her writing them again.
