INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
A dismembered corpse is discovered in the vault of a silver shop. The police initially believe it to be that of a convicted armed robber - but not everyone agrees with that theory. One of them is Decima Mullins, who calls on the help of private detective Cormoran Strike as she's certain the body in the silver vault was that of her boyfriend - the father of her newborn baby - who suddenly and mysteriously disappeared.
The more Strike and his business partner Robin Ellacott delve into the case, the more labyrinthine it gets. The silver shop is no ordinary one: it's located beside Freemasons' Hall and specializes in Masonic silverware. And in addition to the armed robber and Decima's boyfriend, it becomes clear that there are other missing men who could fit the profile of the body in the vault.
As the case becomes ever more complicated and dangerous, Strike faces another quandary. Robin seems increasingly committed to her boyfriend, policeman Ryan Murphy, but the impulse to declare his own feelings for her is becoming stronger than ever.
A gripping, wonderfully complex novel which takes Strike and Robin's story to a new level, The Hallmarked Man is an unmissable read for any fan of this unique series.

5By Rick09Another great Strike adventure. Lot of threads and complications. The Star crossed partners and lovers solve a complex mystery that touched the lives of numerous characters including Strike and Robin. Looking forward to the next book.Love this series
5By munsiniAnds this is one of the best! The Hallmarked Man
5By Jay GilcrestMasterly-drawn characters whose clear attributes, whether living or not, draw the reader into their complex situations with none more compelling than the tension between Strike and Robin. A thoroughly wonderful read.Tiresome
2By borderhoarderIt was possible for me to skim great portions of this book because it is so full of “will they-won’t they”, often written as though the author had no knowledge of the characters she created. It was repetitive, often reading like the author cut and pasted portions of the book from one chapter to the next. If I hadn’t paid for it, I wouldn’t have finished it.Couldn’t put it down!
5By Sherri1717Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Bravo! The Hallmarked Man
1By dislikethisnewformatThis is the last book of yours I will read. I hate authors that play with our emotion, and the work the ending of the book so that we have to read the next book to see how the couple ends up. I am through!Bored out of my mind
3By CentralCALadyToo many characters running in and out of various chapters. Bizarre plot that spends way too much time on obscure cult of Masonry. And who cares about fancy silver pieces? I don’t. Only finished it because I paid for this thing. As always…
5By MHC in Paradise ValleyI couldn’t put it down! Wonderfully and excruciatingly written. You should start at book one…and always pre-order the next so that you can start it right away!! Bravo!!Couldn’t put it down!
4By Ams999999The storyline and all the different players in this book were a bit confusing. A lot of the time I’m not even sure I knew what was going on, I just kept plowing forward because I am so invested in the Robin/Strike relationship at this point that I will read every single one of these books until it is fully played out regardless of how confusing the plot is.Repetitive
3By D2lolThere are many things that I liked in this book, but I feel the inner monologues of the two main characters to be the same narratives repeated over and over again every few chapters, without progression.Plot too confusing
2By Bbelle64Way too many threads in this plot. Trying to keep it all straight was very difficult. Found myself skipping through story to get to Robin and Strike parts, which have also gotten ridiculous. They’re not in high school!Seriously?!
2By Sho1laurenbrilAnother disappointing ending.. after yet another full book we’re no further along knowing what’s going to happen between Strike and Robin than we were in the last book. Ends in almost exactly the same way. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Plus knowing it’ll be another two years before we get another teaser in the last few pages of that book doesn’t help at all. Just skip this book and wait for the next, you won’t miss a thing. The Hallmarked Man
5By SkybluetentSuperb as usual.Hallmark Man
5By 1kmc1Good book. The mystery/murder was so well thought out and the killer was a surprise. Lot of ugly situations, lot of misunderstandings, but Strike really got his own back with Cochran, Culpepper and Branfoot. The inner angst Strike and Robin endured was long and at times tedious. Especially Robin. I actually didn’t like Robin in this book. Hopefully another in the series will come along since once again Strike and Robin’s relationship is teetering on the edge. The book was long, but well worth the read. What a mess.
2By Ricker 74The first three were great, this unfortunately was not, just all over the place. And as for Comoran and Robin after 4 books I think you have got all the mileage out of this relationship. Nuff said.Susan Thistlethwaite
1By sbthistleThis is an incredibly boring book. The relationships are puerile. What a waste of money.
