Description

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times and USA Today best selling series.

Five years, six months, eight days….

It’s been eighteen years since Abigail was born with a hole in her heart. Five years since she collapsed on the soccer field. Five years, six months, eight days since she found out she was adopted.

Abby has spent five years wondering about the family she never knew and waiting for her eighteenth birthday. When Abby shows up on the doorstep of Chris and Claire Knight, her birth parents are overjoyed to see the little girl they lost eighteen years ago. Abby finally learns the truth about the sacrifices her birth parents made for her and is astonished to find she is regarded as "the girl who got away."

One summer is all they have to make up for the years they lost. But a summer of love soon turns into a summer of heartache for Abby. Until, once again, someone makes the ultimate sacrifice for the girl who got away.

I have followed this story from the very beginning and I’ve rode every wave, every up and down, every twist and turn and then I get to Chasing Abby and I lost it! Every emotion that these characters felt I felt too, I laughed at Juniors antics, I cried with Jimi and Abby, I stressed and worried with Claire and Chris. I loved every moment and seeing the Knight children all grown up was a huge bonus! Glad to see a happy (mostly) ending over all. Great job Cassia! I keep coming back time and time again.

This book is one of the BEST books I have read...ever!! It will tug at your heart strings and make you cry more than once. I have read the entire series about Claire and Chris and this is fast forward 18 years about the girl they lost so long ago and their reconnection to her. I can not recommend this book enough to everyone who is looking for an incredible story of love and loss and how to come out strong on the other side.

I had fallen in love with this series and Cassia's writings. Her writing and storytelling is fluid and the visual imagery is detailed that you see what she is describing. I have waiting for this story and I had to out it down a few times because of the emotions it evoked. I'm not one to cry, but I bawled like a baby several times. I kind of freaked my husband out when he came in the room. So much love and anguish throughout this story, and in the end, I still want more!!! Cassia, please continue this series with Adam and Lindsay. I was a big #TeamAdam girl, but the love between Chris & Claire wasn't to be denied. I absolutely adore them their family. Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing us amazing stories!!!!

I've read & loved every one of your books. (The Shattered Hearts series being my favorite.) Chasing Abby pulls at your heart strings from the very first page & continues until you're absolutely blubbering & sobbing until the very end. This story was beautifully written & so well done! I'm an avid reader, reading at least 1-2 books a day & Chasing Abby has earned a permanent spot on my list of absolute favorites!!! This story captures the essence of what love, family & hope truly is....it's a gift, in (so very many) more ways than one!

What a dilemma having to deal with the truth of sharing who her biological parents are. Abby's parents are afraid that won't measure up to Chris and Claire. They feel once Abby finds out she has a rocker dad and author mother for parents that they will seem inconsequential to her. Abby has had heart problems since she was four months old, but they chose to keep this information from the Knights. Abby is not allowed to meet the Knights until she turns eighteen. It's hard to feel sorry for one over the other. The situation is horrible no matter which way you describe it. Nobody really gains or loses. The Knights wanted to be apart of Abby's life, but her adopted parents wanted limited involvement. Now it's Abby's turn to decide what is best for her. Will she wants to meet the parents who gave her up? Will she be upset with her adopted parents for keeping them a secret? Wow! I have not cried that much while reading a story in a long time. Not sure if that was the intention, but it was beautifully sad and sweet at the same time. The story was not anything I had pre-imagined it would be,but it was tender. It was different from what I imagined it would be about. The story was sectioned into four parts. The story introduced you to Abby's world with her parents. Then a world with Caleb. Then Abby got to meet the Knights. Finally Abby got to embrace two families. I thought we were going on a journey about Abby living her life in those eighteen years but it focused on the here and now of when she turned eighteen. At eighteen Abby's world encountered a lot of changes. It was a sweet story. Written beautifully.
