Among Monsters

***AMONG MONSTERS was my most anticipated read of 2014. I was antsy for it the very moment Jamie announced that she would be writing the novella. I wasn't sure what to expect, I just knew that Jamie would have me sitting on the edge of seat, anxious to see what would unfold on Halle and Jenna's journey to Red Hill. To say she accomplished that, would be a complete understatement. Be prepared to have your adrenaline pumping, your heart strings pulled on and have the complete inability to put your Kindle down because you are going to "need" to know what happens next. If you loved Red Hill, like I do (and it's no secret just how much I do), you will absolutely love Among Monsters.***

Among Monsters was my most anticipated read of 2014 and I'm very happy and excited to say that Jamie McGuire blew me away...again! As a mother of 2 girls, following Jenna and Halle's terrifying and courageous journey to Red Hill left me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't help but imagine my daughters in their shoes as they make their way back to their mother. What makes Jamie's writing so special is that she make you feel a connection in some form or fashion to her characters' lives. One of my favorites quotes was, "She's my mom. If I scrape my knee, I call for her. If I'm scared, I cry for her. If there's an apocalypse, I'm going to the ends of the earth for her." Among Monsters, along with Red Hill, are stories of love and survival, and absolute MUST READS!

Heaven's to Betsy Jamie had my heart racing, sitting on the edge of my seat, and even had me crying, awesome, awesome book!!!! Even better than Red Hill, holy smokes - awesome job Jamie!!!! These books need to be a movie!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Being thirteen has pitfalls of its own, but growing up has never been this hard.
