Description
Miss Adeline Hays is out of options. Determined to escape marriage to a repugnant earl, Adeline plans to deliberately allow herself to be caught in a compromising position at a house party with the much kinder man she’d hoped to marry. Instead, Adeline accidentally enters the wrong chamber and tumbles into the bed of a duke rumored to be mad…
Edmond Rochester, the duke of Wolverton, is seeking a wife to care for his two daughters. A young lady of sensibilities, accomplishment, and most importantly, one he is not attracted to—a complete opposite of the bewitching beauty who traps him into marriage. But Edmond refuses to ever again suffer the torment of grief. And despite the lust he feels for his new duchess, he’ll never allow himself to give into his hunger for Adeline…no matter the cost.

5By Nessland10Too often authors drop the ball in how they wrap up their novels but this novel wrapped it up in the best way. Adeline and Edmond’s relationship develops at just the right pace. Adeline’s calming presence throughout the book is so pleasant.Accidentally Compromising the Duke

2By Marina AriadneI rarely write such a negative review, but I couldn’t even finish chapter five. The main characters were interesting, the plot seemed interesting as well. Edmund Rochester? Really? If you’re going to use a name so well-known as Rochester, give him a name that doesn’t scream Jane Eyre, something beginning with a letter other than E. The author uses too much modern language. Rips me out of the setting completely. She then compounds it with such poor turns of phrase made with a poor understanding of grammar and word choice, e.g., using ‘distraught’ as a noun, where ‘distress’ would be appropriate. I can forgive and accept one or two such gaffes in an entire novel, but one or more per chapter results in the equivalent of a wallbanger, for e-books. The characters and plot deserve better writing.
