Description

USA Today bestselling author Stacy Reid’s addictive tale of two lost people who are found…by each other

London is buzzing with the news that James Winters, the Duke of Wulverton—thought lost at sea a decade ago—survived in the harsh wilderness of the Yukon. Now he’s been returned to his family, his responsibilities, and a nightmarish world of artifice and noise. He has three weeks to become a refined, elegant duke for the Queen…or doom the entire family to ruin and scandal.

Promising psychologist Jules Southby knows a lot about disguises. She’s secretly been living as a boy since birth, enjoying the freedoms of men and knowing little about how to behave like a woman. When she meets the alluring duke, she’s unprepared for his raw, masculine beauty and icy intelligence…or that he can see through her darkest secret.

Jules has very little time to transform the duke into a true semblance of an English gentleman. Yet his very presence seems to unravel her in every way. Their attraction is stark and achingly real—and forbidden. But loving the lost duke would mean losing every sacrifice she’s made to earn her freedom…

Wolf and Wildflower is more than a love story! It is literally a meeting of the mind. James Aka the Duke of Wulverton Aka Wolf was lost to his family for 10 years! Literally raised by wolves in a savage Iceland without human contact This shaped him, his senses and survival instincts beyond human comprehension! Jules Aka Juliana Southby had studied abroad and at University. She had lived her life as a male. No one even her father knew the difference. When these two connected it was like static electricity! But they appear as two men which is prohibited and forbidden! But Wolf has an extremely heightened sense of smell and survival instincts of a wolf he knows something is different. But like any predator he watches and engages Jules in several talks and raw emotion about their lives and the truth of living alone around people who love you but do not understand you! These is a very tumultuous, raw and gritty love story! You have to account for the historical timeframe and the customs of that day! The fact James is a Duke and is from one of the most powerful families in the realm also is an important piece!! I can’t say bravo enough! OUTSTANDING!

One of my favorite books. Ever. This author did her research for this book on some very deep, complicated and in depth subjects. So much passion, connection, romance, sadness and humor. Her best book imo. Can’t wait to read it again.

James Winters, Duke of Wulverton, has return to England after being lost in the Yukon Wilds for ten years. It goes without saying, he has some readjustment to make. Jules Southby has lived as a man her whole life. Her mother’s deception was not supposed to last so long, but plans do go awry. She accompanies her father to help James become reacquainted with the ways of Society. When they meet, it doesn’t take long for James to see through her disguise, although it is a good one. I really enjoyed this story. It does take some suspension of disbelief, but it is a great story. James and Jules may be the oddest couple I have read, with the exception of paranormal stories. Following their antics as they find their way is fun. There are some twists and turns, and definitely a surprise or two. Interesting read! I received an ARC of this book of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I have read nearly every by her and I will say that this is one of her best! Please read, you will enjoy. Some things are far fetched but it doesn’t detract from the overall story. I really love this. Stayed up reading this in one sitting.

4.5 Stars! Loved this book! Stacy Reid is such an amazingly talented author, you can NOT go wrong with one of her books! This book reminded me a bit of Tarzan. The main character are Jules/Wildflower & James/Wolfe/The Duke and they had great chemistry, I loved their banter and seeing the trust grow between them. I wasn’t crazy with how the ending wrapped up so fast. I would’ve liked more on how it all came to be and the Dukes family’s reaction to the HEA ending. Would’ve liked to know more about what the Duke went through when he was lost in the Yukon, or more on how he was rescued. A longer epilogue would’ve been great. Can I just say - I am so glad we don’t still follow the strict rules they used to follow back then, especially for women?! Why were they so scared of letting women go to university? Or having fun with friends - unchaperoned?! I’m not even going to get started on the unfairness of the 1800’s towards women. Lying, a strong female character, secrets, torment, death, loneliness, trust, smooching, ‘sexy times’, family, deception, obligations, forbidden romance, love, happiness, and a HEA ending. Such a fantastic read! Highly recommended! *I received this at no charge & I voluntarily left this review.*
