Description
The hero of The Poet and The Scarecrow is back in this thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly, as Jack McEvoy, the journalist who never backs down, tracks a serial killer who has been operating completely under the radar—until now.
Veteran reporter Jack McEvoy has taken down killers before, but when a woman he had a one-night stand with is murdered in a particularly brutal way, McEvoy realizes he might be facing a criminal mind unlike any he's ever encountered.
Jack investigates—against the warnings of the police and his own editor—and makes a shocking discovery that connects the crime to other mysterious deaths across the country. Undetected by law enforcement, a vicious killer has been hunting women, using genetic data to select and stalk his targets.
Uncovering the murkiest corners of the dark web, Jack races to find and protect the last source who can lead him to his quarry. But the killer has already chosen his next target, and he's ready to strike.
Terrifying and unputdownable, Fair Warning shows once again why "Michael Connelly has earned his place in the pantheon of great crime fiction writers" (Chicago Sun-Times).

5By SnorkelJackFast paced. Great character development with a seat of your pants story. I couldn’t ’T put it down.Least favorite book by this author
1By jcar5I just couldn’t get into this. Read about 80 pages and then forwarded to the last 20. Predictable. This author has written much better booksGood read
5By Lybber8Good read. It was slow starting for me but later I didn’t want it to end.Really good…surprised me.
5By southwindshmI read many books and this one stepped beyond the typical. Good story, proven characters and topics relevant to our real world. I rarely give a 5. PeaceGood page turner
4By rossamclI enjoyed this book. Quite different from MC’s other work in the Bosch series and it’s spin off’s.Fair Warning
5By Joannwork1I love the twists and turns. This author writes books that I can’t put down.Good story line
3By AoedGood plot with credible actors. Killer could have been more devious and more prominent in the story.Fair Warning
4By olddue1This was a good murder mystery and a page turner. It seemed less convincing than some other Connelly books. It’d be 3&1/2 really and improbable.Great book
5By Mirage FlyerExcellent murder mystery.typical Connelly!
4By nutsp2190excellent premise, true to life investigation, believable resolution…..worth readingDisappointing!
2By Shahram OskI read all of Connelly’s books and enjoyed them. He is unsuccessfully trying to introduce new characters. This one is by far his weakest. It looks like he is out of ideas. Time to retire?Good but not great
4By Susan, Berkeley, CAI only recommend this to hard-core Connelly fans who enjoy the rush and can forgive him an occasional over-the-top story with too many characters and dizzying plot twists.FAIR WARNING
1By PandemicoverandoutSuch a disappointment! I have purchased and read most of Michael Connelly’s books on my iPad over this last year, during the pandemic. I have enjoyed them so much. The main character ,Jack McEvoy, is a big jerk, I have no respect for him at all, as he is rude, self centered, self serving, self consumed....and he is boring!!Blossom
1By Blossom's PrideThe book was great and I couldn’t put it down. Michael Connelly addresses many of the concerns we all have regarding the abuses that can take place under the internet. It’s a great thing but there’s always someone who has issues and looks for victims to exploit. Looking forward to the next book. Will Jack and Rachel ever get together?Entertaining throughout
4By Bri1164Different Connelly book in that not written from perspective of law enforcement but from purview of private citizen. Well paced and skillfully written.
