Nothing pleasant about a murder in a neighborhood family convenience store… but the frenetic and unexpected cross-Pacific chase of its possible perpetrators had me rapidly turning pages, and thankfully ignoring the evening news. Clever plot twists, an inside look at police work, and well done character development inspired these encomiums. Fun to read! A page turner.Nine Dragons
5By choppercopper492Connelly’s books are always entertaining. I felt that the last chapter was hurried, almost as if there was a cap on total pages and therefore summarized instead of narrated. But overall, still a great read.Very Exciting Read

3By Emily GilmourIt is a bit frustrating - the last book (the narrows) was brilliant, and this one was really not good. The language was awkward, just not flowing. I wonder if Connelly has a ghost writer helping him to make deadlines and that guy is just not up to scratch? And then Harry had to live through a lot of personal drama - none of which was in the least bit believable. Still a big Harry Bosch fan, but man! I hope Connelly gets his stuff together in the drop....Great Book

5By madman111I'm almost 30. Never really been a reader. About 3 months ago my father in law turned me on to Michael Connelly. I only have 3 books left to read of his and have yet to be disappointed. Each book gets more and more intriguing. I will be disappointed however, when I run out of Connelly books.9th dragon
