Description

Lucia

For three years I've kept my son a secret in order to protect him from the dangers of the syndicate. A life his Irish father is still a part of.

When I have to return to Brooklyn, I don’t expect Nathan to be the first person I see. For a moment, the world disappears and it’s only the two of us. Until reality intrudes.

Because there’s no more hiding the fact that the blue-eyed, red-haired little boy at my side is his.

Nathan

Neither time nor the distance separating us has made me forget Lucia. From our first meeting, there’s been some part of her that calls to me.

With the discovery of my son, I’m even more determined to prove to her that she’s mine.

Soon though, a possessive stalker from her past re-emerges, and he wants her for himself. We begin a deadly game of hide-and-seek, and when it’s over, only one of us will be left standing.

✅ Reverse age gap ✅ secret pregnancy/baby ✅ Irish mafia Lucia is charmed by a young Nathan. But tries her hardest to resist him. “I may look like a kid, but I assure you, I’m much more mature than you think.” They share a dance and eventually a one night stand that led to the adorable little Enzo. Lucia didn’t take keeping Enzo a secret from Nathan lightly, but she didn’t want her son or anyone else she loved in that life. When Lucia and Enzo are put at risk, it’s Nathan to the rescue.

Nathan and Lucia met and there was an immediate reaction to each other. Knowing what kind of life Nathan led, Lucia did not want to be a part of it. Before Lucia leaves, she allows herself to be with Nathan. Afterwords, she realizes that she is pregnant and sets out to hide her son from his father. Upon seeing Nathan again, he quickly realizes that he has a son. This book was interesting and a great read. The characters were all well developed and likable. Enzo was adorable! This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
  • Might just be my favorite of the series!

Lucia and Nathan’s story may just be my favorite. I was hooked right from the beginning, with these two. Their chemistry is just SO good. Who would have thought a chance meeting at a wedding would end up turning into so much more? I certainly did not! So many good surprises and a few shocking plots twists I didn’t see coming. I love the way Nathan never gave up on Lucia, and how he genuinely supported her and her dreams. Even when the secret of his some comes out, he doesn’t stay angry, he just shows up for them. Lucia was a strong character and I admired her for that, she knew what she wanted and she didn’t stop to get it, along with doing what she thought was best for her son. I really just love this series and the families as well, definitely a great addition to them all.
  • One of my favorite tropes

4 1/2 Lucia has a secret, one Nathan finds out in a most surprising way. These two have hooked up in the past, obviously. Lucia has made an issue of their age gap, but really that's not the big problem she has with Nathan. It's him being part of the syndicate. I liked this trope and this story was a great example of it. The "surprise" bad guy was really no surprise, but since I was more interested in the characters and their growth to be together, it didn't really bother me that much. Great HEA. I received a copy of this story from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving this honest, unbiased review.

Irish Charmer is the sixth book in the Brooklyn Kings series. Lucia and Nathan have circled around each other a few times, with an instant connection that won’t be denied, but she always walks away, afraid. When she comes home with a son that looks exactly like Nathan, will he let her run away again, or will he fight for a chance with her, his son? Can they find love before her stalker takes her? Oh wow, I completely got swept away with this book and I loved every second spent within these pages. Lucia and Nathan were amazing together, but had a lot of hurdles to overcome before they could find their happily every after. Lucia was so scared. She was scared to love again, she was so afraid to be hurt again, but what she didn’t even realize was how much she was hurting herself by staying away. I loved how much she protected her son, I loved her determination, and ultimately, I really liked her character. Nathan, though, was what book boyfriends were made of! He was patient, kind, understanding, and even when he was angry and upset over Lucia’s actions, he still showed her respect. He was super swoony around Lucia and their son, but I loved him even more when danger was inserted into their dynamic and he became protective and possessive. They were so good together. I loved their passion and their connection that covered years. I loved the ups and downs they faced, some of the drama presented in this book, and naturally the danger elements. I just wish the stalker would have been a little more present in the storyline. This was a fantastic book, a great addition to an addictive series, and I already can’t wait for the next one!

Irish charmer by LK Shaw This is one fantastic story about Nathan and Lucia. They meet and had a wonderful night to remember. She comes back with a surprise that was hidden but now Nathan knows! More danger from her past comes into her life and you just have to read this story to see where it will go! You enjoy this story!

L.K. Shaw has done it again! Irish Charmer, book five in the Brooklyn Kings (The Donnellys) series, is another winner. Nathan and Lucia met at a friend’s wedding six years ago, the spark was instant, but nothing happened. Three years ago, Nathan was tasked with taking Lucia to the airport, and the chemistry was as undeniable as what they did in the backseat of his car before she returned to London. Another three years later, and Nathan is picking Lucia up once again, only this time she’s brought someone with her - a little boy who is the spitting image of Nathan. Nathan and Lucia have to work through some things if they’re going to have a happily ever after. Lucia doesn’t want to be with anyone in the mafia, nor does she want that violence to touch her son. She and Nathan love each other, but she’s hesitant because of their ages - she’s older - and because she doesn’t want to give up her job in London. In the meantime, none of that will matter if Nathan can’t find and put a stop to a man who’s been stalking Lucia for years. I love this book! Nathan is so different from the other men in his world - he’s thoughtful, patient, and open to the idea of women having their own lives instead of being arm candy for a mob boss. He’s willing to offer Lucia what she needs. Lucia only has to be honest about what she’s wanted all along. As always, the characters are amazing, the world building is on point, and the story is fast-paced and full of action! It’s a winner. Irish Charmer can be read as a standalone, but you’ll enjoy it so much more if you read the entire series. Enjoy this one, and be sure to let me know what you think!

This book was amazing. The heat between them was captivating and intense. The story evolved slowly but the intensity between them never faltered. I found myself rooting for him - a truly lovable charmer who had a beautiful soul despite his lifestyle. The story had everything I love in a book - romance, suspense, emotional drama, riveting chemistry and family. I can’t wait to read the next book.
