It Starts with Us
By Colleen Hoover
- Release Date: 2022-10-18
- Genre: Contemporary Romance
Description
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Reminders of Him comes a riveting sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) that picks up where It Ends with Us concluded and shares what happens next for Lily and Atlas.
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.
But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.
Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, New York Times bestselling author) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).

5By wild.poppiesI was ecstatic to find out there was a part 2 in book form, after watching the movie. I feel such a deep connection to Lily; having been through almost everything Ryle put her through, myself; as a teenager. I’m not sure I’ll heal completely, even though I’m married with the sweetest baby girl now. I don’t think that hurt goes away. It took me years to leave my abuser, always going back to him with the hope that he had changed when he swore he did, only for it to get progressively worse. The way Ryle spoke to Lily and made her feel, absolutely shook me to my core, it’s exactly how I felt and how my abuser spoke to me. I’m so happy Lily was able to get out, and that she found true happiness and love. I hope there will be another book to this series someday, but if there isn’t; this ended perfectly. The series that got me back into reading
4By kaybrookes16I was invested in this story line since the first book ‘It ends with us”. I just HAD to know what was next for the two characters and we all got the happy ending we wanted for them. I do wish it continued on, but understandably so, the book can’t go on forever. It Starts With Us
5By rmkm09I was a fan of It Ends With Us!!! Now!!! I loved this book just as much!!Loved it
5By Elgee.Once I finished reading “It ends with us” I knew I needed the next part. I loved “it start with us” I would have like a little more interaction with Atlas and Ryle at the end. Not to be mean but I was not a big fan of the vows lolAnother tear jerker
5By LeslieguzmanI wish this book was longer and I wish I got more about their wedding and if they had children. Feels a little unfinished. I wish it never ended. How will I live without Atlas and Lily? I read this book too fast. 😭Amazing!
5By Heather L RustCouldn’t put it down. So good!Tear jerker
5By ReaderbriAnnaCI am in tears and felt emotions through l out the whole book. It felt like an extension to the movie and I was way too invested.Needs a tiny bit more
4By pinkelpuff819I loved this. Motherhood is very realistic in this book. I do wish I got to read about the proposal and maybe a flash forward about them having a baby boy together. I also would’ve wanted to see if Ryle ever made amends even though it’s implied he’s making progress.Awesome
5By NedraeThis was the best love story I have ever read. I need a book 3!!!Good 👍🏻
5By salahhidinI have this book and I bought just 3$ in Kurdistan lol😄❤️In starts with us!
5By its a shame 40Wow! When I first watched ‘It Ends With Us’, I was completely taken back, realizing that I liked the movie. But when I read the book i immediately fell in love with it. Then I found the book ‘It Starts With Us’ and as excited as I was to read how much love was between Atlas and Lily, I realized that this book wasn’t really just meant to finish out how brave Lily became and finally ended up with Atlas, but this book wasn’t really focused on the love between two brothers that were treated horribly by their mother. Coming together to begin a new cycle of family love that neither of them had ever experienced. As much as I loved the first book and the strength it took Lily to with her daughter to make sure that a vicious cycle stopped, this book was filled with so much more. Lilies continued fight in learning to stand up for herself but also protecting her daughter from seeing what a monster her father could be when they were alone, to Lily starting her new life with Atlas while still getting her abuser help for the sake of her daughter. And it was ending another vicious cycle stopping a self absorbed abusive mother from trying to ruin a child who was never feeling love. This book had me tearing the entire time looking back and looking at my own life and how I have managed the same of what perspires. It was just an amazing book. I believe better than the first one. How Atlas experienced two loves in his life when he grew up with none. Loving Josh immediately was presented beautifully. And to read Atlas getting to be with Lily was wonderful. It just goes to show you that blood isn’t always the thickest.Loved This Book
