Description

“Moriarty’s first novel, written with wisdom, humor, and sincerity, is an honest look at sisters who have a bond stronger than anything life throws their way.” — Booklist

The funny, heartwarming, and completely charming first novel from Liane Moriarty, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Nine Perfect Strangers and Big Little Lies.

Lyn, Cat, and Gemma Kettle, beautiful thirty-three-year-old triplets, seem to attract attention everywhere they go. Together, laughter, drama, and mayhem follow them, but apart, each is dealing with her own share of ups and downs.

Lyn has organized her life into one big checklist, Cat has just learned a startling secret about her marriage, and Gemma, who bolts every time a relationship hits the six-month mark, holds out hope for lasting love.

In this wise, witty, and hilarious novel, we follow the Kettle sisters through their tumultuous thirty-third year as they deal with sibling rivalry and secrets, revelations and relationships, unfaithful husbands and unthinkable decisions, and the fabulous, frustrating life of forever being part of a trio.

I enjoyed getting to know this family so much that I was surprised and disappointed when I reached the end. I felt like I was living their life along with them and I was so sorry that I didn’t get to continue doing so. This is a fun, heartfelt, lovely read.

This is such a delightful story of three sisters and their family. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and especially the sidebar anecdotes from strangers who observed them over the years. Definitely a worthwhile read!

Funny, light, fun. I always wished I was a twin or a triplet‼️‼️I am now totally convinced I should have been. This delightful book would be a fabulous beach read, summer cabin read, or winter chill read. Loved it. Hee books are all so unusual, interesting, and even mysterious.

The story flowed well, but I found the characters a little unbelievable at times. But it kept me reading.

I was bummed when I finished it! It’s a definite page turner and I couldn’t wait to see where the ladies went next. There were times I was irritated with what they were doing/saying/thinking but when do we ever love everything about someone? Never. It was funny, charming, heart wrenching and genuine. The characters seemed real and I loved the interaction between the main women and their crazy kooky family they love in spite of it all. I loved how at the end of each chapter was an excerpt from a stranger who’d seen the family doing something in public that touched their own lives. I thought this addition was witty and a wonderful idea.

Good character development and a page turner for sure. Too much unsavory language for my taste but the characters were relatable in a quirky sort of way.

The story follows 3 twin sisters through flashbacks and current realities as they experience life changing events. Loved how Moriarty made it really easy to connect to each sister. It starts with a major event but then ends in such a reassuring manner. This great for anyone who is needing a little pick me up

There really isn’t anything to like about the book. The storyline, characters, and the back and forth in the book are annoying. If you have low expectations in loyalty, faithfulness, and trustworthiness, you may like this book. I expect more of the people in my circle so this book was not for me.

Three Wishes is a very enjoyable romp about a set of triplets. It has funny moments, sad ones, and tender, as well as touching ones. I liked the three sisters, and I wanted everything to work out well for all of them. Gemma and Lynn were my favorite characters, and I found it more difficult to warm up to Cat, although I wanted the best for her too. While not my favorite by Moriarty, I did thoroughly enjoy it, and am very glad to have read this one.

I had read 3 other books by this author before reading this one and did not realize it was her first novel. It is definitely a "chick lit" but never-the-less a very entertaining story. Moriarty has a great sense of humor and all of her characters are a bit flawed, but lovable and interesting. An easy and fun read.

I found her sudden jumps from one email and one era to another rather annoying like she was trying to be cute and she really had a great subject I wish she had organized it with just a tad more continuity
  • Sweet and satisfying.

The three sisters are deftly written and layered, and the coherent plot contains the right amount of woe to make it touching but not heartbreaking.

This book was especially hard for me to get into and follow. I don't know what it was. The shifts in perspective felt extremely heavy handed and it made for a more awkward and terse read. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars. It just wasn't my genre I guess.

I enjoyed reading this book. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I liked it being from different character's perspectives. I thought the structure of the book was a little choppy, but that wasn't a big deal.
