Elantris
By Brandon Sanderson

- Release Date: 2007-04-01
- Genre: Epic Fantasy
Description
In 2005, Brandon Sanderson debuted with Elantris, an epic fantasy unlike any other then on the market. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Tor is reissuing Elantris in a special edition, a fresh chance to introduce it to the myriad readers who have since become Sanderson fans.
This new edition begins with a preface by author Dan Wells, the first person to read the completed novel, and a new afterword by Sanderson explaining how he came to write the book and its place in the Cosmere, the unified universe of all his Tor novels.
Also included is an expanded version of the "Ars Arcanum" appendix, with more of the technical details of the book's magic that fans can never get enough of.
Elantris was truly a milestone both for Sanderson and for the genre of epic fantasy. It deserves this special treatment, something Tor has done only once before, with Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Sanderson fans old and new will be excited to discover it.

Elantris
5By aperez2832Every read-through is always spectacular and emotional. What a great story, from beginning to end!Gut wrenching
4By Jack w1979An amazing book, slightly slow at the beginning, but picks up and doesn’t stop! The “He was our saviour.” part completely broke me.Fantastic!
5By SES DesignSuch a wonderful story…magical, introspective, and thrilling, not to mention well written, which isn’t always the case in this genre. I didn’t want it to end.A deep and rich world.
5By Glob33218Sanderson creates a deep and rich world that takes time to reveal itself. In each of his books, he carries a complementary energy and characteristic elements that lead to deep character development and surprising plot, twists. He does this through in depth and detailed character development, though at times this can feel drawn out. But as you reach the crescendo of each of his stories. All of that character development pays dividends in the way, the narrative unfolds, keeping you engaged entertained and surprised up to the last page. I highly recommend the storm light archive and many of his other booksFantastic!
5By deadrabiAs a world builder this book is top notch! Will continue to reread for years to come.Brilliant!!!
5By Bob!87Captivating from start to finish!!Rushed and Superficial . . . By comparison
3By HarperJadeTell me if this sounds familiar: You watch a movie or show and ask hopefully “Is this based on a book?” because you need to experience everything the movie or show was forced to gloss over? That’s how I felt reading this book. Except, this is the book, and that’s what we get. Harsh review from someone who is new, but invested in the Cosmere.Starts slow but is worth it
5By Wanpa StompaThis book starts a little slow as it has quite a bit to set up, but the characters are engaging and interesting. By the end you will be hooked and happy that you stuck with itAmazing characters and story
5By mushroom bot 24601It is just awesome: especially how Brandon Sanderson wrote it— he really is a great author —A loyal readerBrando Sando
4By lordlestibournesWhile it’s clear that this was Sanderson’s first published work, it’s still a great cosmere story. I wouldn’t recommend reading this first if you’re looking to start the cosmere though, start with mistborn. It was really cool to see how Brandon has improved in his writing, character development, and his worldbuilding. You can see the seeds of characters and worldbuilding that Sanderson has created in the Stormlight archive and mistborn series in this book. Overall, another engaging Sanderson story.
