Not so very long ago, Eragon—Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider—was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.
Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must defeat Galbatorix. There will be no second chances. The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?
Reviews
Started good....then it went south!!
2By squidly28890The first 2 books were great! The third started out good but at some point it felt like the author decided to make it 4 books and that is where the slow plodding redundant chapters began. This series did not need 4 books. The fourth was extended with 10 to 20 pages sometimes spent describing a hallway or a conversation that could have easily been done in 1 or 2 pages. The added verbiage did not add to the story or character Developement in my opinion.FIVE STARS

5By NabiYahIt was a bit long winded, but a good story nevertheless. I am pleased this didn't turn into a love story and was able to institute a level of practicality and logic that overcame the "love conquers all" ideologies that have been misguiding youths since before the time of Twilight.Great read!
